Really is there any justification for why they would switch that game?

The only thing I can think of is that it was dialed up to automatically switch, and there was nobody on the operator's board to override it in case the game went long. Either way, it's an epic fail and a huge embarassment for CBS.

Why does CBS always get the last KU game of the year every single year anyway?

Because the "last KU game of the year" is always @ Missouri and it's a rivalry...which usually means high TV ratings, especially in this area of the country...which makes it even more complexing to me as to why they would switch over to an out of region game when the game was still relatively close...a couple 3's and fouls and MU is back in the game.....3 and a half min is a lot of time.

I have no problem if they cut away from a game that is in hand to one that is close. They are trying to appeal to a national audience.

the only time I don't care about pulling away from a game early is during the tourney. Other than that, you finish the game you started on.

You know that's not how it works, it happens with football games as well. But that's not what happened today so it's pointless to argue about it. Cutting off the end of a game to show the beginning of one is absurd.

Eh, I suppose that is a bit too early. Was the game they switched to a closer game?

It just started and it was already a 12-1 score in the game. It made no sense whatsoever to turn it over to that game.

If it was the UNC Duke game? Ehhh there would be a lot of crying here in the MO/KS areas but I would at least know why they did it....it's the biggest rivalry in the game and many markets would have at least some interest in it.

But Mich/MichSt....I wouldn't want to watch that game even if it meant something. That's not a huge bball rivalry for one...secondly, the game itself didn't mean anything, both teams are playing horrible as of the moment. None of the teams were ranked. Not to mention no one in this area (except maybe some of STL because of the Illini fans) cares about Big10 bball.

Overall it was just a terrible decision on CBS' part.

CBS claims "sun spots" as the reason for the error. They are apologizing for it and assuring us it will never happen again.

I, for one, applaud CBS' efforts to remove that trouble-making sun from our solar system, where it's been nothing but bothersome for these many eons.

This is so absurd.

"Now, there is a banner running along the TV station saying the "Network" decided to switch the game." ...guess they can't make up their mind if they lost the signal or if they switched (even though Topeka, Wichita, etc; kept the game).

A lesson about social media, or any media... might want to get your story straight first.
