It's pretty damn difficult to improve on Alfie Boe. However, you make an excellent point here, Mr. Dave Lane. I can only wish that Owsley and I could have seen Alfie Boe perform live. That would have been well beyond the outer limits of awesome.

Got to tell you Paul Potts blows away Mr. Boe when he sings Nessun Dorma

With all respect, I'm afraid we're going to have to agree to disagree on this item, Mr. Dave Lane.

Nobody blows away Alfie Boe. Nobody.

You are a poster of great wisdom and extraordinary insight, Mr. Dave Lane. However, this is a thread about Alfie Boe ... not Paul Potts or whoever.

Besides, you can post all the youtube videos you wish, but it's not going to change the fact that Alfie Boe is the friggin' man.

The Paul Potts story is an extraordinary one for sure, but listen and perhaps weep.

Someday, Mr. Dave Lane, I shall recount a story about Alfie Boe that will both inspire and amaze even you. Alfie Boe makes Paul Potts look like a mutant, 17 year-old, Chinese, lesbian with enormous earlobes and no discernible cerebrum.

This, my heathen friends is Alfie Boe performing "Bring Him Home" from the 25th anniversary performance of Les Miserables.

I present this to you in the hope that the more cultured among us can appreciate this performance. I do encourage all to, at least, watch the entire clip ... it's 4 minutes of culture that cannot harm you.

This performance was so astounding, in fact, that the audience actually stopped the show with a standing ovation and about 2 minutes of spontaneous applause. It was a rare case in which the show couldn't go on ... at least, not until those in attendance appropriately honored Alfie Freaking Boe.

Paul Potts is that Cambodian dictator guy, right? I had no idea he was a musician.

Okay, you hedonistic, uncultured cynics. Here's a film of Alfie Boe singing in a guy's kitchen.

Alfie is the man.
