Why wouldn't you want to lay around the house and do nothing all day?

One can do that without being an animal.

You'd think you were independent. I've never seen my cat feed herself, get herself water, or clean out her own litter box.

I've sen my cat stalk and kill birds and mice for food, drink naturally occurring water, and shit pretty much wherever it wants to.

My labradors have both captured and eaten squirrels and drank from rivers. One of them once ran down a rabbit.

Oh, and they can swim.

This 'cats are independant' thing is bunk - they're not. My dogs would have far greater survivability than a freakin' 10 lb housecat. Cat's aren't more independant, they're just miserable, snotty little creatures that should never have been domesticated.

Not true in the least. Cats are naturally independent. Dogs are pack animals. I have, and have had, both as pets. For decades.

I'd rather be a cat.

If you're an indoor cat, you get food, water, affection, and you literally have to do nothing but eat, shit, and sleep in sunbeams.

If you're an outdoor cat, you need less food to get by on than a dog, you can eat rodents and things dogs don't, you're small so you can elude more easily through tight spaces and use small enclosures for protection and go unnoticed (whereas, as a dog, it's pretty hard to survive on your own and not get picked up by animal control). As a cat, you can find some nice homeowner and meow a lot and suddenly you have a place to live in their garage or barn; as a dog, strangers are probably less tempted to provide for you.

I would love to come back as one of my cats. Of course then I wouldn't be here to take care of said cat so maybe this isn't too well thought out. :hmmm:

I'm a dog lover but I gotta say most cats are smarter than dogs. They don't have to work as hard for their food. And they got those reflexes.

I think I'd rather be a dog.

And my reason for that is, dogs have a great sense of smell, and are good at detecting things. Thats advantageous since they can sense either prey or predators from a distance through their smell.

And they are sociable animals that are dependent on each other. Dogs are very friendly, joyous, and cheerful animals. Those characteristics alone enable them to develop good relationships with human beings and with each other. Also, in the wild, you'll always see wolves sticking together and working in teams. Everytime they attack their prey they do it in bunches.

And if they sense an enemy or predator from far away, they can do that through their sense of smell and keep a distance if that predator poses a severe threat. So they work in teams which makes them very powerful, and they are keen and aware of their surroundings through their sense of smell. Pretty good combinations if you ask me.

I wanna be the huge half wolf that an old neighbor used to have, i'd eat cats like the cartoon characters that stick a whole chicken in their mouth & pull out a stripped carcass.
