View Full Version : Food and Drink What lunch box(es) did you own as a child?

I had only one lunch box up until I stopped using it around sixth grade. It was a secret agent lunch box of somewhat generic design, since it wasn't associated with a TV show or anything. It had a secret code generator on the back, and while I was a bit envious of the rich kids with their name-brand lunch boxes like Snoopy and Kung Fu and Scooby Doo, I felt that the secret agent lunch box gave me an air of mystery that enhanced my image.

I had one for the first year or two of school, complete with thermos bottle that would break if you looked at it wrong, but I can't remember what it was. Probably generic or something like the Flintstones.

Brown bagged it after that.

Some day you'll be in Normandy crawling through a hedgerow and an American sentry is going to ask you what lunch box you carried, and when you give that answer he's going to shoot you, because every American had a lunch box.

I had that one too. One of my few first grade memories is of me swinging that metal box around pretending that I was going to hit the girl who was the object of my prepubescent affection. At some point either she or I moved ever too close and I smacked her right across the face. Much crying and blood ensued.

looks like our moms shopped at the same place. My mom started placing little notes in my lunch bag as soon as I could read them. Y'know, little things, like "have a great day, be good in school. Love mom", stuff like that. I had to put the kibash on that about my junior year of high school. It became pretty "funny" for a buddy of mine to steal it out of my bad and tape it to my locker every day.

I remember just having random foods(like a jar of peanut butter and a little bag of carrots and a half-full half gallon of milk) inside of my backpack which was a plain blue one for most of school. I always had to haul my whole backpack to the lunch room, which sucked. But then my mom found out about free hot lunches, and I never had to bring food to school again.
