I was going to mention - I'd NOT wan't Westbrook to take that last shot, but maybe he would've at least got the shot off - durant gets it broken up prior to even getting a shot up.

When teams choke out his driving lanes, he's done. He's got to become more consistent with his perimeter shot, and be more creative distributing. Having said that, Durant does a lot of standing around and watching when the ball isn't in his hands, and with Thabo and Perk on the floor, who is Westbrook going to pass it to?

They were up 15. Harden's presence in the game isn't worth 15 points. I don't think there's any player that good. It was a good ol' fashioned choke job by their coach, some brick shooting by their stars, and one fucking incredible performance by Dirk Nowitzki.

I'm sitting stuck in the parking lot. That was the most painful loss I have experienced since the Chiefs Donkeys playoff game in 98 or whatever. What a complete collapse. I've watched us almost blow big leads in late games 20 plus times this year and knew the bullshit we do at the end of the games would crush us huge some day. We are the worst team at protecting leads I've ever seen. The blood is on Scott Brooks hands. The talent is there and hes not putting us in position to win games in crunch. IMO he has one year to figure out or fuck off. I thought Pau's tip in last year was bad but this totally mind fucked me.

God fucking damn it I hate sports sometimes.

Congrats Mavs fans. I dont know if you are the mist talented team but you are the best team.

I Still believe someday KD will be like Dirk. He's not quite there yet.

That makes me feel a little better because I was convinced that was the biggest collapse in the history of the playoffs.

I thought the officiating definitely didn't go our way but again I'll never blame that. Dirk and Kidd made plays to win the game and KD and Westbrook didn't. Of course we are talking about a 34 year old and 38 year old against two 22 year olds.

Dirk gave me flashbacks of Elway mentally raping me as a kid.

I will never understand why Brooks stops running the offense when we get a big lead. After many close calls and fucking a 16 point 4th quarter lead at Memphis I would think he would learn. I hate the playing not lose shin any sport. Keep doing the things that gave you the fucking lead.

I feel bad for KD. He apologized to the City but that's not necessary. It's been a hell of a two year ride and I know there's more to come. He's got string character and I know he'll rebound from this. He needs to get stronger in the offseason and try to emulate Dirks post game.

I dont think we have any chance to win the series but I know we won't quit either. I bet Wednesdays game is at least very competitive.

Now time to sleep and have fucking nightmares.

FUCK!!!!

KevB
05-24-2011, 01:10 AM
He's got to get stronger, regardless what he adds to his game. No doubt about that. And to really excel in the playoffs when things slow down and don't come easy, he's got to develop more of a post game or get better moving without the ball. I've seen WAY too much of him standing 30 feet away, holding his hand up while his defender denies the ball knowing KD isn't moving an inch. Westbrook sees that as the dead end that it is, says F that and just takes off. Not conducive to winning tight playoff games all around.

For the most part, I've been a Brooks apologist, but I agree with you completely. I seem to remember one point during the meltdown (maybe it was OT) where he called a timeout and the play coming out was to pass to Durant on the right wing. That was it. I know Durant's a great scorer, but at that time he was struggling and every time he touched the ball, there was a crowd around him. Brooks has to come up with something better coming out of a TO.

Agreed here, too. Without KD, this team isn't even close to the WCF and although there's room for him to improve, he's already a great player. No need to apologize on his end.

If anything, Westbrook needs to work on the mental part of being a PG & learn when to distribute and when to attack the D.

I definitely don't expect to win this series and could see it ending in the next game, but it's been a fun ride anyway.

I'm interested to see what Presti does this offseason, the team is definitely set up for long-term success but there's plenty of room for improvement as well. Next 5-10 years should be fun, assuming no one pulls a LeBron or whatever (God, I hope that doesn't happen).

The next step is a post game. There is no doubt. I think it will happen. He works hard and I think he's learning he's got to get easier shots in the post season. Coaching would help that too :s

We never should have been in the position to lose the game on one call so again I don't blame the refs. However, I don't know how you can make a call like that on Collison with 6 seconds left in the game and Dallas in the bonus. I thought it was questionable at the time but seeing the replay is brutal. I don't want to hear about Dallas getting screwed against Miami ever again. The better team won. You can't let one call decide the game. The refs should be ashamed of themselves for that call though.

LOL

You say "don't blame the refs" then you spend the rest of your post blaming the refs.

Last night Van Gundy said there should be a rule where they can call a technical foul on the crowd for being basketball idiots.

If it's a foul, it's a foul. The fact that there is only 6 seconds left in the game doesn't make it not a foul.

The bottom line is that OKC only needed one more bucket during that last 4:50 in the game to finish the game. One more bucket during that 17-2 run and there is no overtime and you are not worried about that foul call.

I don't blame that shithead owner you have or the fine people of OKC. Just don't ever expect me to root for them. They're worse than the Raiders in my eyes at this point. 1.) It was a foul. A foul is a foul no matter when it happens.

2.) Dallas fans aren't exactly happy with the refereeing in that game either. Dirk was constantly getting humped and whacked and it seemed like every 50/50 scuffle resulted in a foul against Dallas instead of a double foul or no call. I really hate the inconsistency in foul calls from game to game though. Game 1 resulted in a foul almost every time for either Durant or Dirk, even if they weren't touched at all. Now they let people just smash each other and get away with it. It's got to be so tough and frustrating for the players.

My son and I got tickets to Game 3. We made a 5 1/2 hour trip down to OKC from our home, which is about 15 minutes from the Nebraska boarder, but on the Kansas side.

And even though the Thunder lost, the trip was entirely worth it. The atmosphere out in front of the Arena prior to the doors opening was fantastic. The electricity in the building for the entire game... dispite losing the whole game was phenomenal.

And that was also my first trip ever to OKC. You guys have a very nice, and very clean city!

Very enjoyable trip! Hope to make it again someday!

We'll see how much OKC cares about the team when they start saying they need a new arena. It's easy now.

Well I expect that they'd care a lot. The Thunder are the only pro game in town. They only have to compete with AAA baseball and OU football in the fall.

We need a pure shooter that can stretch the defense and a low post scorer. They dont have to be stars just solid. We need to let go Nate and Byron Mullens for sure. I think Cole Aldrich will contribute mire next. I'm afraid in two years he may be better than Perk :s

I'm reall still proud of the team. I never once thought we would win the series but this one was hard to swallow. Especially watching at the arena. I should have sold my tickets LOL.

The last two years have been fun to be a season ticket holder but the Pau Gasol tip to end last season and the collapse tonight were horrible ways to end it. I'll hold out hope they win Wednesday and come back for one win here to wash the bad taste out of my mouth. All I taste right now is Dirks Seaman.

The most ironic thing of all is my name is Dirk. FML!!!!

For example, on Monday, a white van was driving East of I-95 in Miami Shores. It was covered top to bottom in Heat stickers and words and flags. It was covered in words such as, “Barkley sucks.” Barkley pulled up next to the van with a smile as the shocked driver rolled down his window.

“Go Bulls!” Barkley yelled.

They went to a nearby parking lot. Barkley lumbered out of his car. And now, forevermore, the driver has a photo in front of that van with one of the greatest basketball players ever, sports bringing them together in the odd way that only sports can.

It is worth noting that Barkley had his arm around the driver.
And that both of them were smiling.

It probably depends on how much the team is asking and whether or not any good players are there. If it's a bad team with a bunch of turds on guaranteed deals, and the team is saying, "Build us a new arena, or we leave." Who knows?

You have no idea about Seattle, or the history of that team. But you're butt hurt now, so go ahead and talk. It's not personal dawg. I don't blame that shithead owner you have or the fine people of OKC. Just don't ever expect me to root for them. They're worse than the Raiders in my eyes at this point. Seeing Durant at the post game last night brought a huge smile to my face. That's as much as I've cared about basketball in 4 years.

Your right I'm butt hurt.

No reason to take it out on Durant. He has never had anything bad to say about Seattle and is 100% class at all time. You say it's not the owner, the city or the players but yet it makes you happy. That's great. Go burn down a Starbucks. That guy is the real villain. If Seattle wants a team they'll get one back. They did not support the team in the end and that's a fact. We have on of the best crowds in the NBA right now but if we stop supporting them I'll be the first to say it's our fault.

It is being butt hurt rooting against something that had nothing to do with it. I understand losing a team. I was a KC Kings fan when I was a kid. I never rooted against Sacremento. We lost the team because we didn't support them.

The Baltimore Colts, the Cleveland Browns. Those teams got fucked. Seattle did not.

I think it's a no call and Dallas ball out of bounds the charge on Westbrook was way worse. Again it doesn't matter.

I agree with the consistency thing. At points they call nothing. Then they call everything.

I never said we lost the game because of calls. We flat out choked and Dallas made plays. I never blame a win or loss on the officials but anyone who's watched this series will tell you the officiating has sucked. There's been plenty of bad calls the other way too and they are magnified when you lose.

Dallas is the better team and deserved to win flat out. However, your fans are largely cocky and disrespectful. You haven't won shit yet to act so superior.

I like the players and wish the best for them.

I love this team because they play hard and their good peeps. When my kids have met players they have been overly nice. This one was hard to swallow.

The window for OKC to win a championship is soooo big. Not so much for the Mavs.

I like Durant, it's hard not to. He'll win some big games before his career is over. The experience he's getting from this playoff run will be invaluable.

Westbrook on the other hand, I'm much less impressed with. He's a good scorer but that's not typically the role of a championship PG. He reminds me of Iverson.

I agree.

With the way our team is set up Westbrook really needs to score more than your average point guard but he needs to play smarter for sure. I'm not 100% sure we will sign him because he is taking so much heat. Some is deserved some is not. If he doesn't sign right after the agreement then we have to go get something for him. It's business. If we don't support the team and they move no one should feel sorry for us. If they had good attendance and moved that's a different story.

It's not that I feel sorry for the hardcore fans, I truly do. I just don't understand rooting against a City and players that had nothing to do with it. I remember Collison being out spoken against the move when they came. I didn't blame him. He adjusted and loves it here now. Why would you root against Collison and Durant when they had nothing to do with it? I mean I know why you dint root for them but licking their tears is a little much and butthurt.

He is, but Miami is doing a great job with him. Limiting his fast breaks, and doubling (and tripling in the lane) at all times. Chicago just doesn't have enough weapons to keep Miami honest, and so they load up on Rose. It's every Bulls fan's worst nightmare. They've overcome the limited offense all season, but in a series when you play them over and over, teams can adjust.
