tonight it's been mostly little set shots from seven or eight ft. - He had a lay up of two, as well. He's definitely not the same caliber player he once was, and yes his shot is unorthodox, but tonight he deserves credit for his utilities, alone.

DWade - 22/10/6, Bron - 24/9/5, Bosh - 19/9

Dallas made 9 3's shooting 41% from downtown
Miami's bench outscored the Dallas bench 27-17
Miami out-rebounded Dallas 46-36

Dirk tears a tendon in his finger...does Dallas even win a game now?

Didn't hear about this until this morning.

MIAMI— Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki tore a tendon in his left middle finger Tuesday against the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

After post-game X-rays, it was determined he will have to wear a splint on his non-shooting hand the remainder of the series. Nowitzki sounded upbeat, saying "I guess it's not broken."

"It was just a freaky play," Nowitzki said. "(Heat forward Chris) Bosh got a bounce pass and I stepped in. I thought I stripped him clean, and then I kind of looked down and I couldn't straighten my finger out anymore ... But it will be all right. It's on my left hand, so I'll be all right for Thursday."

It is unknown when Nowitzki was injured. He finished with 27 points in 40 minutes, but struggled with his shot. He was just 7 of 18 from the field, but the Heat feel the setback won't affect the outcome of the series.

"He'll be all right," Heat forward LeBron James said. "... Dirk is right-handed. He shoots the ball extremely well. That left hand is just a guide hand for all shooters. We all know that. It won't affect him. He's still going to be great. He's still Dirk."

Yeah, the first half was pretty brutal by both teams.

The game wasn't a blow out, so that bodes well for a competetive series. Dallas just couldn't make shots and they blew several easy layup and dunk opportunities. Dallas needs more from Terry and Stojakovic.

Dirk's hand is his non-shooting hand so things should be OK.

I watched the whole game sitting next to a guy that had $1000 on Dallas. Miami kept it close and in the 4th quarter they imposed their will on Dallas; they completely controlled them.
The game wasn't as close as the score. Dirk can't operate against that D, J Kidd is old/innefective, the packed lane makes Berea a non-factor, Dallas can't stay with Wade/bosh/LeBron.

Terry's real problem right now is the Mavericks have been asking him to be a better player than he is.

He's not a #2 scorer. He's been playing over his head all playoffs. He's coming back down to earth against these thugs.
