Just have to shake your head and heh that Soria gets credit for a save there. Ugly one's count too at least.

Soria hasn't been the same since he requested that his nickname be changed.

He threw almost 30 pitches tonight. He also only has 3 K's this season. Somebody else is going to have to suck it up and be able to close out games.

I'm sure there is someone. It just seemed like one of those days where just the whole pen just stunk up the joint.

Just glad that KC gathered plenty of 'insurance' runs.

This is an excellent point

Did they score after that?

We didn't score in the 7th or 8th.

Royals are tied for the third best record in baseball.

Also, I think that the Rockies officially clinched the NL West. A 4.5 game lead after 13 games? Holy shit.

Boston has half as many wins as the next worst team in baseball.

AL East is the worst division in baseball.

WTF is going on?

Tulowitzki is on pace to hit about 87 HR. He's entered another dimension. If you remember he had an insane streak last September. In his last 41 games, he's hit 22 HR's.

The guys sat there in 40 degree weather, rain, and 30+ MPH winds for 3 hours. I can see how it would be hard to get up and pitch after that.

I still can't believe we didn't make the trade for Montero. I love Soria, but he's a closer who has had TJ surgery, and Montero is the #1 or 2 prospect in all of baseball.

I still can't believe that any trade dealing with Soria for Montero was anything but rumor.

In other news, our AA team was completely, thoroughly, and utterly destroyed by a final score of 26-5.

Needless to say our pitching prospect had a bad night.

Christian Colon, (SS) - 1/5, 1K
Wil Myers - day off
Salvador Perez, (C) - 1/4, 1K
Will Smith, (SP) - 1IP 6R 6ER 1BB 1K 2HR

Yeah, I can see how that could affect them. Still, alot of things just went wrong, almost did.

Mitch Maier not diving for those balls. Ump trying to "extend" the game by not giving those borderline calls, etc. etc.

My god, Soria has looked fucking terrible this year. Looks like every 9th inning will be a heart attack.....

I could understand that except that the Yankees threw $870,000,000 at a setup man right after we supposedly turned down that trade.

and it's sad that the roids question automatically pops into my mind, and I doubt I'm the only one. Hope he's for real.

I can't fathom how Maier is in the Majors. If you are a fringe player fighting for playing time, you dive at foul balls behind home plate. He didn't even looked like he cared in the batter's box.

100 pitches for Hochevar and only 56 strikes. That's interesting.

well folks, this is now the best start since that fools-gold 2003 season.

We're probably not good, but who knows. Everyone in the division who was supposed to be good has done poorly so far.

Hell, I most certainly was not expecting Boston to be 2-10.

And that goes back to what I was bitching about Hoch, getting up to 0-2 counts, only to waste it with 3-2 pitches, ultimately, ends up walking the bastard.

We haven't been blown out in a game all year. Gordon nearly homered to win the game in the opener, and we blew a big lead in another. No losses by more than 3 runs, and two of our 4 losses have been in extra innings.

As far as I could tell, this is our 2nd best start after 13 games since 1978.

If we somehow played .500 ball from here on out, we'd be right in the middle of the division race in September.

How much ass would it kick if we found a way to win with O'Sullivan versus Felix?

Still can't find KC highlights on the four-letter.

Edit: Hey, we just got 15 seconds of coverage. Awesome.

I know that its no fun to be realistic, but if this were the Chiefs, we won our first game while having only a bad 2nd quarter, and in our second game we are up by a touchdown at the end of the first quarter.

So, if it keeps up, maybe we'll be 2-0 in a year where we expected to finish 4-12 or 3-13.

I really liked Humber. Not that he was our best prospect, but he could throw mid-90's and had a nice curveball. He had stuff to work with.

Stanley Nickels at 10:15 or so tonight, out with friends: "Soria probably has let the absence of the Mexicutioner get to his head". Stanley Nickels' alter-ego: "No, that's retarded." Stanley Nickels' alter-alter-ego: "Absence of Mexecutioner sounds like 'Excellence of Execution'. I'm drunk."

It was cold as shit last night and it looked as if Soria was having problems gripping the ball, I was having problems feeling my toes, he was 50/50 balls and strikes, I'll throw those numbers out.

My favorite Royals call in to the post game show last night was ol boy who called and started off by saying, "I'm not trying to be racist, but you don't bring in a 'warm weather' guy in that situation."
