View Full Version : Home and Auto the new 21st Century Beetle . More manly?

I've owned quite a few Volkswagens. The new redesigned beetle was revealed this morning. It looks kinda like the recent beetle but squashed down a bit. The profile looks best, I think it looks the same from the front. Supposed to be more sporty and the interior more interesting.

I think the Beetle designers also worked at Audi, so if you're a dude with money you can get one of those.

Not really sure what the manliness has to do with it anyway. I've never done a study on what cars impress women. I'd do a poll but there only seems to be around 10 women here, so it would be too small of a sample.

Carrera is much longer than that new Beetle.

The new Beetle looks like a less round old Beetle and no, it's not any more manly than the older one.

An SUV is not a minivan with a longer hood. They're not even close to the same thing. The only thing the two have in common are the extra seats.

And there is a difference between driving a car that is "Macho" Vs driving a car that isn't designed for women.

I asked why he changed it from Estevez (he's real name)

He didn't change his name, brah.

someone claimed he was famous because he was born with the name sheen, and I asked why he changed it from Estevez (he's real name) the rest of the thread was a circle jerk. It really doesn't matter to you, does it?

Yes, that was me. And, no, he never changed his name.

He didn't change his name, brah.

I mean, maybe not legally, (and maybe so too, I don't know). I do know he was born under one name, and now people call him a different name, and that's really all it comes down too, brah.

I don't believe that is accurate. I think Dane introduced it.

So, you acknowledge that Carlos didn't/hasn't "changed his name," yes?

Do you acknowledge he is known and answers to a name different than the one he was born with?

I've hated the new Beetle since it was introduced. I hate them so much that if I get stuck behind one in traffic, I'll turn on to a side street or into a parking lot just to get away from it. They are the fucking epitome of ghey.

Yeah, you've got to take it in the ass to own a VW, they do it right there at the dealership.

For Tinyevel, I was walking by a VW van today and saw this sticker on it (top center, one row down):

"I beat up 4 hippies and all I got was this dumb bus".

I used to have a 65 baja bug with a bulit 1641 and a big two barrel holley...only car I've owned and don't have a pic.....I'd love to build a 67 Beetle, drop in a 2185, dual weber carbs..Cal bug it out ...drop the front end put porsche targa wheels on it...

it'd flat out boogie.

as far as the new car, it's definitely better than the last version...even though I've heard the turbo model is pretty quick.
