Possibly Defensive line and possibly Offensive line, but the final call went to OL, unless there's a WR Pioli really really likes....

He's close with Pioli. So....

Yep so close that he never even thought Eric Berry was a remote possibility last year.

I have no gripe with going OL, NT, OLB or WR. This is a draft where there are only 1 or 2 players that would really annoy me.

He got TJ right.

I would be fine with any of those I think.

By 'DT' I hope he means 'NT'.

Yeah, if I'm going to believe a reporter within a day or two of the draft, its King.

There's no way in hell anyone would ever have us picking TJ at #3, and King did. Somehow he penetrated (tee hee!) Pioli's trust tree, and he still may have that connection.

He used "meat and potatoes" last year, too. It was the only reason he gave why the Chiefs would take Bryan Bulaga.

Fuck you, King. Do some reporting, you fucking idiot.

I like the words "best available" and hope that is what they do. OL would be great.

It's going to be an O-line pick, just a matter of who.

I like how all these guys try and cover their butts by giving 3 choices. OL, DL maybe WR.
After Pioli messed with him last year with the not taking a S in the top 5 thing I think King would stay away from trying to figure out what Scott is going to do on draft day.

Ah, but who is this year's Omar Easy?

I forget, was it Titus or Wolfman who called that one? :titus:

That was definitely what I found amusing in all this too...
I don't have a clue who we take, but I choose WR.

I believe that was Titus.

If we go OL, then I hope it is Gabe Carimi (Wisconsin) at RT. I was leaning towards NT Taylor at #21, but I think there will be NT's like Ellis and Powe to look at in the late 2nd.

D-Line now, because we have zero NT's on our roster currently.

I'm kinda surprised at the OL votes. Not that I'd really be upset or anything. I just thought the general consensus was more "OL isn't a first round pick" very often and that B. Albert was kind of a rarity.

Anyone care to elaborate why they think OL?

Some people want us to spend every first round pick on an LT until we get Walter Jones.

Edit: nm, RT is fine!

We already got a RT at 15 in 08....

If they want versatility on the OL in the first they could surprise and take Watkins.

Ignore Sacofcrap. He is pretty clueless when it comes to this "football stuff."

I still think WR is our most pressing need. But if nothing is close at 21 I'm cool with RT, NT, G/C, ILB, OLB.

Because our line is questionable, aging, and has almost no depth...

I don't think anyone thinks OL isn't a first round pick, just that OL isn't a top 10 type of pick for this team. In the 20s is a good place for that.

I understand the need, overall. But aren't good OL choices made in the later rounds most of the time? can we say the same about WRs?
