Shit.

If the season doesnt start week one and they pick up at the halfway point, we might have a tough 1/2 year.

If they get things figured out and we play the whole preseason and full schedule, we have a chance to get a good start to the year and go from there again...

I really hope they get the CBA figured out so that we hit the ground running.

optimistically, I see a 10-6 win season (that's assuming we get some WR help, a legit nose tackle, cassel turns into a legit qb, and the young talent we have on defense plays up to snuff).

Well, a couple of things, I like how things are spread out, we don't have 3 straight road games at any time, but we do have 3 consecutive home games.

We start off with some fairly easy games, I hope, Bye, isn't ideal (week 8) but not the worst in week 6.

Three primetime games means we made some noise last year, we just gotta win those games while everyone is watching. :thumb:

We have the offseason to get smacked down by the Bills. Not likely & if so there is no way they can be as obnoxious as the JET fans were. Then again it was worth it cause that's the year the Chiefs stumped a muddlehole in Herm's ass opening day. HA

Deploying on Oct. 19th...so I guess my choices of home games will be either the Bills or the Vikings. Considering I saw last year's Bills/Chiefs matchup, this kind of narrows it down for me.

Not bad for KC from a primetime perspective: Chiefs play the Patriots and Chargers on Monday Night, Steelers on Sunday Night (even throw in the Chiefs/Bucs preseason game if you want to).

We need to go 6-3 or 7-2 the first 10 weeks. Week 11-15 shit gets REAL!!!! Would love to come out with one or two wins here, but we will see. Then the last two games with Denver and Oakland will then become very important.

We could go 10-6 again, but I'm leaning towards 8-8 right now.

I'm just glad the easier part of our schedule is at the first half of the season. If we can't do well on that portion, then we don't deserve to be thinking possible playoffs in the end.

philfree
04-19-2011, 07:08 PM
For a tough schedule it's fallen pretty dang good.

We have a favorable first two games giving a chance to get to 2-0. Although I'm sure Detroit isn't going to be so easy. Then with the Vikes at Arrowhead we could be 3-1. Of course the Chargers start slow so maybe we can steal a win and be 4-0.

Then we have a three game home stint starting on Halloween. That should be three wins.

The Steelers at night at home.

Christmas Eve Day at home against the Raiders.

Tough but fun.

You can say a lot about that game, but how did we play scared?

Everytime they play the Colts they don't play with enough killer instinct. Thats the problem. The issue always appears to be Manning. Chiefs fear Manning, he gets into their heads because the main concern is keeping him off the field all the time. Like when our offense is on the field, the main thing we are concerned about is taking control of time of possession or dictating the tempo of the game in our favor. This plan doesn't prove to work. Why do they do this? To keep Manning off the field? But every damn near time we see them go by this approach or philosophy it just makes things easier for the Colts defense. And their ready for a simple, conservative game plan. I don't know about you, but I've noticed that. And as a result, what do we see? Terrible, piss poor offenses. Its unacceptable.

Like, its not like the Colts have a great defense? Attack them. We can exploit them, and many team do this at will and score on them. Why can't we? And I just think that we have to quit being so damn simple by trying to either run the ball up the middle or do whatever simple play they will draw out of their game plan. I have no problems with our defense. I think Crennel is capable of designing an excellent game plan and getting his defense to play really well against Manning. I absolutely agree with you there. In fact, even when Herm was here our defense played them awesome. Im confident in the defense but the offense has a repeating trend that just makes me angry. Like for example, it happened twice when we played them that we didn't get a first down on them till like half way through the game. see what I mean? We always put ourselves into a shell, into tough situations when we play them. And its so frustrating. We gotta break out of that hump.

*Manning doesn't affect our defense at all. But one thing he does is affect our overall game plan/philosophy and overall approach in how we play them. And 9x's out of 10 our philosophy translates into a loss. That needs to change.

What won the Division?

The Chiefs.

I swear to God if we didn't have that piece of shit for a Head Coach you wouldn't have even come close.

I'm just giving you a hard time. Clearly you know coming to Arrowhead on MNF (on Halloween no less), will be no joke. You basically said as much.

I'd rather have the toughest teams at Arrowhead in Prime Time (that's a compliment)... it's weird, but the team really does seem to be better in that kinda situation. Arrowhead can become a crazy place... they feed off that energy.

Just getting back to Norv for a second.

We had first and goal from the 2.

We had Mike Fucking Tolbert.

I think we went Sproles for a loss of 4, pass, pass, pass.

Norv is a fucking idiot.

Yup, overlooked it.

Went to that game one year with my dad and learned then that no one gives a crap.

If phillip rivers cant throw a touchdown 6 yards from the goalline, you dont deserve to win.

I can see the Raiders going 8-0 in the division this year. Easy.
