It's-it (Ice cream sandwiched between oatmeal cookies, dipped in dark chocolate)

That sounds nice.

Ambrosia (pineapple and mandarin orange chunks with coconut flakes atop them) vs. Cannoli

Both are good. I'd probably go for the ambrosia because it's healthy and light while also quite tasty.

Cherry Pie vs. It's-it (Ice cream sandwiched between oatmeal cookies, dipped in dark chocolate)

Cherry pie is fine. I've never had an It's-It and am suspicious of the oatmeal, but ice cream sandwiches are a great invention. I'll go It's-It.

Steak Tartar in Spiced Chocolate Cream vs. Crema Catalana

Chocolate and meat do not work. Do. Not. Work. I'll go with the Crema Catalana.

Brownie with nuts vs. Chocolate Wine

Chocolate and alcohol do not work. Do. Not. Work. Gimme the brownies even if they have nuts infesting them.

Pistachio Pudding vs. Bread Pudding

Never had pistachio pudding. I like pistachios a lot, but the thought of a green nut pudding is odd. I'll play it safe and go with bread pudding even though I'm meh on it.

Haven't we already seen cherry pie? I thought it went up against apple pie. Lattice pie should be the same as pie, same thing, just less top crust.

Probably. I looked them up and it looked like perhaps crema catalana has some citrus zest/flavor that's a little different.

I can't really tell the differences or similarities on a lot of the custard-type things, so I went conservative and included them all if I thought there were any differences.

I wasn't sure if the lattice was enough difference, and agree that it's probably not. However, the cherry pie with lattice also came with ice cream. What we have here is cherry pie with a solid crust and no ice cream. Since it was nominated separately I thought we'd make it independent.

Nope, they are similar but Crema Catalana kicks creme brulee's ass. Crema Catalana was the ORIGINAL version of the dessert. It is significantly lighter and "fresher" tasting.

I have had and made both and wiki is wrong... they are pretty similar but there are enough differences to make them unique. The BIGGEST difference is that Crema Catalana is much much lighter.

Cannoli - I like pineapple well enough and I'm a fan of coconut. I can take oranges or leave them. But fruit salad isn't my idea of a great dessert.

Cherry pie - It's-it sounds good too, but cherry pie is one of my favorites.

Cream catalana - Whether it's as good as creme brulee or not, I can't see eating raw meat as a part of a desert. Yuck.

Brownie with nuts - In a landslide. I had chocolate beer once and I found it disgusting.

Pistachio pudding - I like pistachios and bread pudding always seems pretty lame to me.

Ambrosia, steak tartar, chocolate wine, and pistachio pudding take losses. Cherry pie and It's-it will take half a loss due to a tie.
