Alabama is getting absolutely hammered right now. Somebody needs to check in with Reaper. He lives in Tuscaloosa, correct? They just took a direct hit from a very large tornado.

The Weather Channel just reported that massive damage has been done to the western part of Birmingham from the tornado. There is a camera on the south side of town giving a view of the storm as it moves along. That tornado is very big... damage reports will be growing.

There are some unbelievable videos out there on youtube. Makes you wonder how many idiots tried to shoot these things and didn't make it, especially since these tornadoes were tossing cars and carrying debris hundreds of miles.

Supposedly in a county in northwest GA south of Chattanooga, officials requested mass casualty and mobile morgue trailers, report is a 3 story hotel may have collapsed.

The actual storm that started in MS and did all the serious damage in AL has now moved through GA and into NC, still with a tornado. Four states...that thing is gonna be an all-timer.

I live maybe 10 miles north of downtown Atlanta, it's not even raining here at all. But it looks like we're less than an hour from a few monster cells coming through.

Up north of me they're getting hammered though. Lots of tornadoes on the ground tonight...

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. A wave of tornado-spawning storms strafed the South on Wednesday, splintering buildings across hard-hit Alabama and killing 72 people in four states.

We've confirmed 50 dead in AL from this storm, major bad news. Four people were killed just north of where I live.

I'm in Atlanta right now, threat of tornadoes is minimal in downtown ATL, but still some worry north.

Guys, my company has a lot of stations in the affected areas and I know some of my coworkers and friends have had damage. No word on whether or not they've lost loved ones. Please keep everyone down here in your thoughts. This is rough.

They're showing a monster tornado (the largest their radar has ever picked up) south of town, and if I'm not mistaken the area they're highlighting is right over my boss's house.

If it wasn't 1230 I'd probably text him make sure he's ok....

Reaper's right in that area. Excerpts from FB...

told me that the internet has been knocked out on campus. He's safe in the basement of the library. They've been told that another storm is headed their way.

back at his home now. After the power went out, they forced everyone to leave. He says he doesn't know how his neighborhood was spared!

Glad to hear he's ok.

When a long-tracked tornado like that goes through 2 major cities, people are going to die no matter how much warning they have. It's such a shame...I love tornadoes and find them fascinating, but only when they're churning up dust and dirt in the middle of the plains.

My prayers are with all the people of the affected region, including all of you CP'ers in the area.

I was terrified once i remembered Reaper was in Alabama, I'd almost rather ANY of you die, other than him.

Just kidding, i'm stoked everyone seems to be okay, that we know, anyhow.

Weird storm though, it basically sandwiched us here in Downtown, basically all north and south of here, but quite a light show, really. Weird gusting 55mph winds.

Oddly, Atlanta has become Tornado Alleys latest member, over the last 8-yrs, i've been more scared than I ever was in Blue Springs. I'm not sure, but it seems Tornado-Alley has widthened to the east.

Glad everybody is okay, the milf down the hall that drives the Black Jag txted me last night indicating she was scared, so we went to the lower-level and were prepared to hide under the stairwell, I had a pink ribbed (glow-in-the-dark) condom in my pocket, just in case. Never happened.

Hey all, I am mooching wifi since my power and Internet are out. My house is perfectly fine. Very close to me? Total devastation like I have never seen before in person. That tornado completely took out two populated neighborhoods and a lot of prime retail district. I don't really have words yet for what happened. I saw what used to be an overpass swatted away as if it were a fly. I know people who are now homeless.

Since I won't be on the board during the draft, I might as well preemptively say "mother fuck you, Scott piloi" :D

I hope that people remember that this could happen to anyone at any time.

It's incredible how long it takes to overcome something like this, too. We just "celebrated" ... "observed" would be a better word ... the 1 year anniversary of the Nashville flood and some homes between me and the Harpeth River are still unoccupied. I have no idea what happened to those families.

Glad to hear that you're helping out, Mr. Reaper16. That's the only positive that came out of the flood situation here ... neighbors taking action to assist in true tribal fashion.
