6'1" 204... got good size. Sounds like a bump and run guy.

maybe going to play him in the nickel?

I don't trust Daniels and Washington already flamed out. Decent value for a Nickel/Dime guy.

Hell no Reach

He's not a reach at all. I think they make this pick because because of Flowers and Carr's contracts.

Okay one of two things: either Powe doesn't rate as high and we are comfortable with all of the other options available at NT later in the draft or.......well that is the only option that makes sense to me. :spock:They gave Powe written instructions to call Pioli then they would draft him. Pioli is still waiting for the call.

I would have to agree with this. It certainly seems that Powe may have been taken off the board or has been given a much lower grade than most at CP have him valued at. Carter from Syracuse would have been a decent pick there IMO.

Surely we have to grab someone at NT with one of the two early 5ths...

A three-year starter and a team captain for the Buffaloes --- Named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in both 2009 and 2010 --- Cousin, Kenny Brown, played football at UTEP in the early 1990's --- Underwent shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum after the '08 season --- Best fit might come in a scheme that features a lot of press coverage --- Not quite as big or fast as teammate Jimmy Smith but is arguably a better cover guy --- Constantly picked on as opponents tried to avoid Smith but held up well --- Could compete for a starting job at the next level but will at the very least be a quality backup and contribute on special teams --- Underrated prospect with a nice blend of physical tools and top-notch intangibles who may wind up outperforming his draft status.

Which actually makes Whitlock both right and wrong. I think the Egoli stuff from Garozzo's may well have been accurate, but Whitlock also has continued to make the assumption that Pioli could not learn from his mistakes, and I think he's been wrong in that assumption.

Strengths
Stanzi displays great leadership qualities, toughness and intangibles. Can escape the pocket, improvise and make plays. Has the mobility necessary to evade the outside rush, climb the pocket, and buy more time. Has enough athleticism to pick up first downs with his legs. Displays good accuracy in the short passing game. Has enough arm strength.

Weaknesses
Decision-making must improve. Takes too many chances and puts the ball in harms way too often. Unsound footwork leads to inaccuracy on intermediate and deep throws. Needs to do a better job of leading receivers. Doesn't have a quick release and can hold the ball a tick too long.

Grade
5.8
