So here is my final mock picks for the Chiefs this year.

1. Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA
The Chiefs replace Vrabel in their 3-4 defense with the talented linebacker from UCLA. The former Bruin captain should be a natural fit in Romeo's defense.

2. Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami
The Chiefs star WR is from Miami, Florida. The Chiefs go back to the same area to nap their #2 guy. The big play captain from the U should be a perfect compliment to Bowe.

3. Kelvin Sheppard, LB, LSU
While Belcher played decently in this spot, the Chiefs have the opportunity to add some fire to the Middle Backer position. Sheppard was the emotional leader for LSU's defense. Firey and a team leader, should be a perfect fit with Hali, DJ, and Akeem Ayers.

4. Jerrell Powe, NT, Mississippi
Finally the Chiefs get the nose tackle they need to complete their 3-4 defense overall. While Powe didn't have the best senior season, he played well in the nose tackle role as a junior.

5. Jake Kirkpatrick, C, TCU
Chiefs take the Remington Award winner to fill their void at center. The TCU captain should contend to anchor the Chiefs line.

5. Stevan Ridlay, RB, LSU
Thomas Jones is aging, Jamaal Charles is at his best when he is fresh. Chiefs look to former captain for the Bayou Bengals to replace Thomas Jones in the future.
<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Cd3TEmv4g_o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

6. Nathan Enderle, QB, Idaho
Can the magic strike again at 199? Hopefully for the Chiefs sake the Nebraska native who lead Idaho to a bowl win in 2009 can be their Tom Brady. Lord knows our current QB can't.

7. Preston Dial, TE, Alabama
Need depth at TE behind Moeki.

That's a decent mock, IMO. I'm just having a hard time getting excited about anyone being proposed at #21. But if Ayers can get to the QB and make plays in game situations, I'm all for it.

Id rather draft Taylor at 21 than Ayers and I dont really like Taylor.

Id rather reach for a receiver at 21, or take a solid linemen or more preferably... a trade down. I think we can get one of those guys ten picks down the line or more while adding more picks.

I know there is game speed and track speed, but Ayers running a 4.8 ended it for me.

That lacking speed doesnt often make it in the NFL.

While I disagree with you about Ayers, this draft nonetheless upgrades our LBs and finally gives us a true NT. Hankerson and Kirkpatrick are both excellent picks that fill the two biggest holes on offense. Everything after that is just gravy.

If the Chiefs draft went this way I'd have no problems at all.

I'm still sticking with Ayers but with Goose's information and replace him with Gabe Carimi the rest of my mock doesn't change one bit.

I could live with Ayers.

I think Goose's information is suspect after you get to the 15 range and up. People taking this Carimi pick as gospel need to relax.

Probably about 10 players I'd prefer over Ayers at 21.

IMO, Kirkpatrick isn't an improvement in moving the pile from a guy like Niswanger or Weigman.

Not a fan of Ridlay. Would rather get Fannin out of Auburn or take John Clay later or UDFA. Also would rather go after Allen Bradford, Graig Cooper, Armando Allen Jr as UDFAs.

After hearing about some of these alternatives, I've decided to jump on the Ayers bandwagon at the last minute.

I'm praying to God right now that we take Ayers at 21
