View Full Version : NFL Draft I still want Hankerson in the second

I really like the Baldwin pick in the first, but we still need another WR that can really stretch the field. If we can get Hankerson in the second and resign Bowe, I think we will be set at the skill positions on offense (minus QB--we're the Chiefs, we will NEVER have a franchise QB who isn't past their prime) for quite a few years.

Getting that 3rd WR will really open things up for Charles.

Who do you want in the second and why?

No way dude. We need to spread the love to other positions.....

If we blow our first 2 picks on WR, I'll start throwing things...

I'm all for it. We need depth. One injury away from having not much at WR.

If Hankerson fell to our pick I wouldn't hate it if we have a plan get some OL help a NT and OLB help.

I want a NT or OLB. Keep building that defense!

We can address the oline in the 3rd round.

I'm for pretty much anything at this point....although they do need to come out of Day 2 with at least 2 of 4 positions filled.

C, NT, OLB, OT

Can't go back to the WR well. We still need a Nose Tackle, an OLB and some help along the Offensive Line.

I think I go and get my OLB in Round 2.

We need a C. There is a giant hole at that position that people continue to ignore.

How 'bout we just play the fucking midget we drafted at 36 last year where we drafted him to play?

Problem fucking solved.

In my dream (now) draft, our next three picks fall out like this:
2: Hankerson WR
3A: Powe NT
3B: Wisniewski C

First, resign means something totally different than re-sign.

Second, which quarterback on our roster is going to throw a ball that a 4.4 40 guy can't outrun?

Third, a second big physical receiver who can jump like a kangaroo and has great hands does fit very well with the QB we do have.

Fourth, sure we need a little more depth at the position, but we have other positions where we need someone on the field now.

Anyone think Stephen Paea can play NT? He's 6'1" 303 lbs. I'm sure he can add another 10-15 lbs.

Akeem Ayers, Stephen Paea, Martez Wilson, Bruce Carter, Casey Matthews. Any of these guys would fill a position of need. And if Matthews is anything like the rest of the his bloodline it would hard not to take him with our next pick.

If Rodney Hudson (Center from FSU) is there with number 70, I'd take him. He intrigues me greatly. He's a bit undersized, but the man can fucking play ball at his position. At gun point, I might even take him at #55.

No. If we want another WR, wait until rounds 3-5 and get a guy who complements Bowe and Baldwin, not a guy who has the same type of skills, just not at as high of a level.

I think if Wisniewski is there in the 2nd I would prefer him. Although i love Hankerson I don't think we will take him. I would be surprised if we only take one WR in this draft though.

Had a dream we took Dalton in the second.

Lets not forget free agency

In other words a short white guy with good hands and runs good routes.

Essentially, minus the white requirement.

Titus Young, Jerrel Jernigan, Vincent Brown, Dane Sanzenbacher all fit the bill.

i loved the Baldwin pic, but now it's time we spend some money in the trenches.

Problem ****ing solved.

Hard to argue this. Just use what we have and add some depth through FA, if necessary.

Fine with me. The only option I'd disagree with is drafting another 6'2"+, 200lb+, physical WR.

I'd look to Edmond Gates with our second 3rd rounder. Pure speed to complement Bowe/Baldwin. Get OLB or C or DT with the next two picks.

What I don't like about Gates is he's a development project. He doesn't run good routes, has ok hands, and needs to get stronger. He is a burner, though. To me, he seems like more of a typical Raider's type reach/pick. We'd have to get him in the 4th or lower, IMO. I want guys who can come in and contribute immediately with our 3rds.

Normally I do not care, I want the best available player at the pick we can get.

BUT...

If there is another really good player just under him in a position of dire need I am cool with that also.

If he was, we wouldn't be talking about drafting him with the 55th pick.
