This'll kill some time, we've got forever 'til the 6th rounder.

Explain your picks if you want. But let's see your grades.

1. WR Johnny Baldwin, Pittsburgh -- A-

2. C Rodney Hudson, Florida State -- B+

3. OLB Justin Houston, Georgia -- A+

3. DE Allen Bailey, Miami -- A

4. CB Jalil Brown, Colorado -- B+

5. QB Ricky Stanzi, Iowa -- A+

5. OLB Gabe Miller, Oregon -- F

Hard to give an F for a 5th rounder, but the guy is a Colin Brown type pick.

1. WR Baldwin -- A
Love his size and leaping ability. Will come in handy when Cassel is farting passes into the ionosphere.

2. C Hudson -- B+
Undersized but seems like a solid addition to the interior of the OL. Downside is that he'll be forced to snap the ball to Cassel.

3. OLB Houston -- A

3. DE Bailey -- A-
Houston and Bailey seem like awesome value picks and will bring some athleticism to the defense. It'll be nice to have guys other than Hali who can get to the quarterback.

4. CB Brown -- A-
I actually really like this pick based primarily on his interview. He seems extremely confident, intelligent, and team-oriented. I don't think character should ever be the #1 factor in a draft pick, but when you're drafting for depth in the middle rounds, good guys are valuable.

5. QB Stanzi -- B+
Good value in the 5th. Resemblance to Cassel outweighed by admirable jingoism! USA! USA! USA!

5. OLB Miller -- A++++++++++++++++++

1. WR Johnny Baldwin, Pittsburgh -- B+

Note: I really like the pick, but the guy has a few issues. I think WR was our biggest need. Once teams took Bowe out of the game our offense was limited. If Haley can work his magic with this kid, Bowe and the entire offense will benefit.

2. C Rodney Hudson, Florida State -- A

Note: I love the pick, and have thought the reason for our offensive troubles in recent years have been because we were weak up the middle. Now maybe instead of getting 2 yards a carry Thomas Jones will get 3.5 a carry :). Seriously, this will help protect Matt and continue to help our outstanding running game.

3. OLB Justin Houston, Georgia -- A+

Note: Another pick I love. I don't care if he took plays off, the guy has talent, which is something coaching can't make up for.

3. DE Allen Bailey, Miami -- B

Note: I can't give him an A until we know where is going to play. Regardless, he will add depth at a number of positions. Again, he has all the physical things needed to make it in the NFL.

4. CB Jalil Brown, Colorado -- B

Note: A little shocked we took a corner, but having young depth is very important. Hard to argue with that.

5. QB Ricky Stanzi, Iowa -- A+

Note: Another huge need filled. Great size, from a big program, and has a knack for making big plays. He's the perfect backup who could become much more. To be honest he missed Moeaki last year, which is why I think his numbers were down. He's clutch.

5. OLB Gabe Miller, Oregon -- N/A

Whatever, seems like a wasted pick to me. Don't see how he makes the team with our other players and draftees.

Maybe it's because I'm blinded by the rest of the draft but the Miller pick doesn't bother me. He's got great workout numbers and is still learning the position.

I'm going to rate Miller a little higher then others only after reading up in him. Sure he doesn't have the production one would want, but he is a developmental OLB. The kid posted some VERY GOOD Pro Day numbers. He seems like your classic Patriot/Pioli type of OLB. Remember Studebacker was a nobody before he developed before our eyes. Not saying Miller is going to be anything special, but I understand why the Chiefs took him.

I like the Miller pick more than the Brown pick.

Our OLB depth is much better if he takes.

I don't mind the pick, but they could have grabbed Cannon, the offensive tackle from TCU that the Pats took a couple of picks later, then taken Stanzi with the pick that got us Gabe Miller. Or they could have grabbed that North Carolina guy, Yates.

5. OLB Gabe Miller, Oregon -- ???
Project guy with good physical skills, but didn't seem to be on anyone's radar at all. Maybe he is the next Jared Allen, maybe not so much.

I would have been fine with Brown had we not selected Arenas last year in the second. Would have preferred to go Cannon and then Stanzi, since the latter was inevitable.

Miller? GTFO of here.

1. WR Jonathan Baldwin, Pittsburgh B-
Question his ability to get open as he is not quick. Doesn't seem like a good compliment to Bowe as they are similiar in style.

2. C Rodney Hudson, Florida State A
Solid pick, best center in draft

3. OLB Justin Houston, Georgia A-
May be a slacker and a pothead, but talented...should be solid with some coaching and character guys around him.

3. DE Allen Bailey, Miami B
Another DE for the rotation...good upside.

4. CB Jalil Brown, Colorado C-
Too many good players at other positions available.

5. QB Ricky Stanzi, Iowa B
Definitely not a franchise QB, but every team needs a backup.

5. OLB Gabe Miller, Oregon F
Wasted pick imo. No need to draft this guy this high, could have waited much longer.

6. Jerrell Powe A
Considering people wanted him drafted in the 3rd, getting him this late is an obvious steal.

It isn't Baldwin's job to be quick. That would be whoever we get for the slot. Baldwin is big and has a long stride, so he can still stretch the field even though he's not a burner. I think he and Bowe being similar is actually a good thing -- Cassel now has two big bodies to overthrow to on the sidelines. It's going to be hard for defenses to decide which guy to focus on. Throw in Moeaki over the middle, McCluster underneath, and Charles keeping them honest in the running game, and you've got a potentially stellar offense.

Fucking Cassel, though...

If these guys work out and are productive, we pretty much filled every hole on the team.

Baldwin surprised me a little. I would've preferred Torrey Smith or Jernigan or OLB Bruce Carter. Big tall heavy receivers don't often work out, but maybe he'll be the exception. I hope so.

Hudson seems like a great value, as does Houston. I'm wondering what caused Houston to drop so far, but figure that Pioli's crew did their homework. I like both of those picks.

Bailey is a tweener, but I like the pick if they can find a way to use him.

I know nothing about Jalil Brown and thought our CBs were good already, but depth can't hurt. I might've gone running back here, Taiwan Jones or Johnny White.

Stanzi seems like a good value risk for a QBOTF

I know nothing about Gabe Miller. Hopefully he's good.

Jerrell Powe seems like a good value where we got him.

Shane Bannon? Okay. Hopefully he can block someone before Jamaal Charles runs by, and our fullbacks aren't exactly overwhelming.

My biggest concern is that 1 and both 3's are guys that underachieved a bit and require some motivation. Guys who lack motivation in college are usually boom or bust. They either get it and play up to their natural level, or they don't and fizzle out quickly.

Idiots that drool spittle can recognize someone that carries the ball.

It's impossible for them to figure out the contributions of those that don't touch the ball.

Why do we need another RB? We need another WR way more than we need an RB and its not even close.
