We expect to be taken care of from cradle to grave? Not most of us. Probably most of us expect some sort of safety net that they would contribute to. Of course, there are some who might expect to be taken care of, but it's a very small percentage.

We don't have privacy anymore? None!? Our young people are off fighting wars. Of course, they voluntarily signed up for them. We're going broke. Okay, not sure how that's a dictatorship element. We don't have honest money? I don't know what that's referring to.

This is certainly how many Americans view our current status but you forgot to add the collapse on the end.

Ron Paul is just using hyperbole. It's not like we're actually living in some type of government that is in many ways like a dictatorship. To me, it's boring hyperbole and ineffective. But that's just my opinion.

If you are wanting of change it sure feels like a dictatorship, but yeah it's much closer to an Oligarchy which is even harder to change.

Japanese Americans in 1941 didn't think they living in a Dictatorship, then in 1942 they were abducted by the military, taken from their homes and placed in Internment camps because their Parents happened to be born in the wrong country.

But anyone who actually thinks that could happen again is obviously just a kook and shouldn't be elected to a postion of authority because they're too busy trashing our democracy and Civil Rights to have our best intersts at heart.

Paul has said 50% inflation is coming. This will help the US govt pay off its debt with cheaper dollars while it impoverishes the rest of us. Way to GO, Obama supporters! Will the real NUTs please stand up! This is slavery to me. Plus Police gone wild with Swat teams to collect student loans, porn-scanners or groping in airports. Napolitano recruiting citizen spies.

Isn't the government dictating to us by forcing to by private health insurance or face a penalty? You must not have listened to your mothers advice very well.

Why did you capitalize "parents" and "internment", but not "military" or "democracy"? Is it because you hate America?

Other countries besides ours have Militaries and other countries besides ours have Democracies. It wouldn't make sense to hate to country I live in. On the contrary I love America and Democracy and I don't want either of them to go away anytime soon, I capitalized Internment because it emphasizes the fact that if it happened once, it can happen again, and Parents because it was legal born US citizens this happened to, not immigrants (not that it should matter IF this is truly a Democracy like I hope it is).

Why would not capitalizing Global concepts like "military" and "democacy" (which most people don't) give you the impression I hate America?

jesus christ people, its not a democracy,. Ron is correct on a dictatorship on this point. Executive Presidentia orders are an exact example of a dictatorship. these are so called emercency laws and actions and unilateral actions presidents can take in so caled emergency situations. No congress, no court. One single man, be it a R or D, makiong laws for everyone without the other two branches of goverment, sounds like a dictatorial form of goverment to me.
