Gonna get messy if we dont grow up and do whats right.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia said in a statement Thursday, that the House of Representatives will vote on the balanced budget amendment sponsored by Rep. Bob Goodlatte, also of Virginia.

“One option to ensure that we begin to get our fiscal house in order is a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, and I expect to schedule such a measure for the House to consider during the week of July 25th,” Cantor added. “I have no doubt that my Republican colleagues will overwhelmingly support this common sense measure and I urge Democrats to as well in order to get our fiscal house in order.”

eh, i don't think most democrats would want a balanced budget amendment...

deficit spending to spur the economy has been a hallmark of democrat economics and political philosophy for a long time, and without the democrat senate no amendment is going anywhere...

No, but voting against it is going to resonate poorly with anyone who's in the middle 1/3 of the political spectrum.

Oh, and I don't believe for a second the Republicans would trot this out if they thought it would pass. They love deficit spending as much as the other guys.

The only way a balanced budget amendment gets passed is if the states force a Constitutional Convention. Frankly there may be too many states whose budgets depend on federal handouts to get that done, though.

Washington DC is broken. OK? It's a corrupt cesspool.

This is going to end real ugly. Lots of violence, seccession of states et al.

There is no political solution.

Unfortunately, it's not a panacea and I doubt it will do much. They can always handle things by just raising taxes. Besides, if we just followed the Constitution a BBA wouldn't be necessary.

Right now, B.O. has 30% of voters saying they will vote for him again in 2012 (Blacks 12%, Moonbats 12%. Mentally ill 6%).

That means he needs the "independents" ie fat white harridans who watch Oprah to vote for him again. They're stupid, but they are not that stupid.

There are already some calls for this in some states. However, there is a danger in having a Con-Con today. It runs the risk of being a runaway convention, replacing too many good things or scrapping the whole thing and starting over—like the original Con-Con was. This is, much more a likely scenario, with the assorted leftists, mercantile Republicans, NeoCons and RINOs that dominate politics today.

I don't think the violence will be everywhere. That's only going to happen in the places where the people have been on the government tit for so long they're incapable of taking care of themselves. They'll have no option and/or the most expedient option will be to put forth just enough effort to burn some shit.

I don't think states seceding is ugly. With 300M people spread out this far, over this many climates, you just can't make everyone happy. In hindsight they probably shouldn't have given up their right to leave the union in the first place.

There are also moderates that are very intelligent and work in finance too. ( there's a couple at PP)

I read California is the next Greece. It's our moonbat state. People area already leaving other moonbat states like Massachusetts and a few others in the north Atlantic area.

Fair enough. But let's face it--- our elections are decided by 3% of the population, who are wishy washy and can be swayed either way on a whim. And that sucks.

Elections being decided by people who make up their mind on something other than blind party loyalty. Man, that fucking sucks. You've totally convinced me.

Jackasses who live, eat, and breath a party voting for idiots who will spend, spend, spend on their pet causes. Don't blame the moderates for the spending programs, that shit falls squarely on the shoulders of the party faithful.

Brazil's economy is in the shitter too.

Don't think I have any love for this country. I don't. If things continue on I'll be pulling the eject lever myself.

I don't really understand all the flag waving stuff, and I'm not sure why I ever did. I'll support this country as long as it's making decisions in my best interest.

Given your intellect I'm going to assume you only learned to use a computer because there was free porn.

The clip spends half the time getting the crowd cheering just by saying "9/11". That right there is a Republican crowd.
