Uhhhhhhhhhh... how have we not talked about Brad Smith from the Jets?

Dude's almost certain to hit free agency.

Smith not only has roots in Missouri as a former Tiger at Mizzou, he is the kind of all-purpose offensive joker this administration loves. He's got a great feel for the slot and is a receiving threat opposing teams can't leave to linebackers. He's also the league's best Wildcat guy, blocks well downfield, and can return kicks in a pinch. But most of all, he's the perfect compliment between Bowe and Baldwin.

He is my one and only "must get" of the offseason.

QB: Cassel
RB: Charles

WRx: Bowe
WRy: Smith
WRz: Baldwin

TE: Moeaki

LT: Albert
LG: Waters
C: Hudson
RG: Lilja
RT: Richardson

C'mon, folks. Let's do this ****ing shit.

He'd be a nice addition but he's my 3rd or 4th choice at the slot position.

Steve Smith (NYG)
Breaston
Jones

And one of those strong character type guys that should suit the Halioli way. I gotta admit I like the shit outta this guy in spite of his mizzerable roots. What do you think the price tag will be?

Don't forget Lance Moore.

Geez.... you gotta figure at least a handful of teams want him.

So you gotta want him more than them. He's what, 27? You can sign him to a five year deal, maybe $3 or 4 million a year, lay about $5-6 million in guarantees in there.

The guy had four receptions last year so paying him 1 mil per catch might be kinda steep but I would still enjoy watching him as a Chief.

Ha. That's a damn good point.

I'd still shell it out. He's got good hands, I don't think the Jets ever committed to him in the slot.

Cribbs signed for 3 years 20 million and I would guess Smith will be looking for a similar deal as he is a somewhat similar type of player.

if a guy had 4 catches last year, why would you expect him to be a good receiver for us?

Because the Chiefs signed a guy with 0 catches on the year to start in the playoffs??

Actually fuck that Santonio Holmes is a free agent.

He probably has 1 good year left in him as a returner, maybe 2. Almost no value as a traditional receiver (career highs of 325 yds and 2 TDs). Brings a little value in the form of matchup/scheming (as a wildcat QB, etc). I haven't watched him enough as a pro, but apparently he's a decent all-around ST player.

Being a Mizzou homer, I'd love to see him in a Chiefs uniform, but only if he came cheap.

Not interested at all.

Different position, but one guy we absolutely should be considering is Chris Hoke, NT, Steelers.

Not a fan of his age, but he'd be a perfect 1-2 year stopgap for us. Dude filled Casey Hampton's shoes last year with little/no drop in performance.

$3M for a guy with less production as a receiver than DVD? No thanks.

BTW, if there is a preseason this year, watch what Daniel can do with New Orleans' first string offense. They don't miss a beat when he steps in for Brees.

I'm glad McCluster worked out in the slot so we don't have to worry about this.

We have enough people I would think to do what Brad Smith does. We can't even get the ball enough to charles.

He'd have to change his number. Brad Smith without 16 would just look weird after watching him all these years.

557 Career Receiving Yards?
The answer is "no". Let's not have this conversation again.

He's not a good wide receiver.

Has a bit of value as a KO returner which KC desperately needs.

A good get if you're done with McCluster.

He's a nifty gadget player, but he probably has more value to the Jets than he does to anyone else.

Yeah I think the guy will start somewhere eventually.
