Wow that sucks. Is it weird that as I look at those pics I'm think "this would be a great place to shoot a music video for some depressing song or a zombie movie...?"

From a distance, some of those rides look undamaged and ready to go...until you get a closer look. I guess routine maintenance does have it's benefits.

On a side note, I found it funny that the comments at the end quickly turned onto a namecalling match.

Another Cool and Creepy pictorial here:http://www.undergroundozarks.com/dogpatch.html
Went by there shortly after (a year of two) in closed and looked really worn down and dead. Never got to go when operating. BTW some recent news related to this park:http://ozarksfirst.com/fulltext?nxd_id=456217

We saw the pictorial of Six Flags N.O. On Stumbleupon recently. Would love to see it without the cheesy HDR. Let those pictures speak for themselves, no manipulation necessary. Utterly haunting.

Six Flags pulled out all the stuff and rides they thought were salvagable years ago and moved them to different parks....They moved a hanging roller coaster from there to san antonio and renamed it Goliath.

It was cool, but it wasn't nearly as fun as Silver Dollar City. Still, the old photos are interesting.

Not at all. That place screams out for a Zombie Apocalypse horror film, maybe with some lone dude who looks like Will Smith as the only survivor of... oh, hey, wait a minute. Never mind.

Damn that park looks small as hell

Seriously, whoever shot that, HDR/tonemapping should NEVER be combined with photojournalism. I want to see the place as it is, not watch you show off 1001 photoshop filters.

I tend to agree, the place would be creepy enough without having the REM everyone hurts photo effect on it

I went to Dogpatch with my brothers a few weeks ago, on the way back from our family vacation. We were there no more than 2 minutes when an SUV drove up, looking for the owner... they were meeting the owner to give him advice on what to do with the land. I had read about the lawsuit, so I was wondering if he wouldn't let us on for fear of liability issues, but we ended up being able to look around a while, and no one cared. The kid was riding around on his ATV.... I think his dad is the actual owner.

We went there a couple times as kids, so it was strange to see it again. The rides are gone, except the water slide. I'm surprised the rides from the Six Flags in New Orleans are still there.

I took my kids there on vacation years ago. It was kind of cheesy and overpriced. Still it is a place that I recall fondly. I had no idea it was closed~

I wonder if the Rainbow Trout are still in that pond. That was so fun to go fishing, bring it to the grill and have it for lunch at Dogpatch. The rides were kind of meh there though. Those new coasters at SDC are awesome though, they need to keep Fire in the Hole up and running, I love that ride. Im not sure why they screwed up the American Plunge though but its still OK.
