View Full Version : Obama "It's Not Right, It's Not Fair..."

Obama just doesn't understand capitalism. I harken back to his insistence that even if lower taxes brought in more revenue he would not support it because it's not "fair."

Fairness isn't an economic policy, Mister Obama.

"Gotta spread that wealth around."

That was, and apparently is, the core of Obama's view of our country.

It should surprise no one.

The absolute worst thing the left does is sell the idea that you have a right to someone else's money. That core idea will ruin us someday.

I was talking about taxes a few years ago with a very liberal friend of mine, and he said the exact same thing: he wants the rich to pay higher tax rates even if the result is less revenue, because that would be "fair". They shouldn't get to keep so much money.

I was stunned when I heard that. It struck me as extremely childish and petty.

Did Obama really say this? Does anybody have a link to this?

I'm not surprised at all that he would think it. I'm just surprised that he would be foolish enough to say it out loud.

It's not foolish. Who has more votes: people who have the money, or people who want the money?

Yes he said it. He's been saying it throughout the debt debate. He's been saying it throughout his presidency. He was saying it before he became president...

You're right. The sad thing is that I remember watching this debate.

It must have been a pretty big brain fart for me not to remember this. I can remember Obama saying numerous times that asking the high income earners to "pay a little more" is the "neighborly" thing to do, but I somehow put it out of my mind that he actually f*cking said that he would raise the capital gains tax to make things "fair", even if it results in reduced revenue.

All I can think is that I must have been in denial. I couldn't believe that a Presidential candidate would be that f*cking stupid.

So, in that video he responds to the assertion that a drop in capital gains tax increases tax revenue by saying, basically, that it's not fair.

Pretty much. Again, I'd reiterate that fairness isn't a sound economic policy. I've always thought that if you win you deserve to pursue the programs you want to pursue, but what kind of idiot wants to have less to do it with?

Unless he doesn't really care what the impact of his "fairness campaign" has on the cash flow of the country. He certainly hasn't expressed much I. The way of serious reservations to date.

Two economic worldviews that will never mix nor ever intended to mix. Two economic worldviews with historical trackrecords. Capitalism which has shown time and time again to be ironclad successful as opposed to Socialism that has shown to be an ironclad failure time and time again and might I add far more a failure over a much loooooooooooooooonger period of time in world history.

Can you mix oil and water ? That is what the Dems and RINOs have been trying to do for decades is try to con us that we can have Capitalism and Socialism at the same time and make it work.

Horsesh**!!

Obama's worldview of America and Capitalism is just plain warped and wrong and he knows that if he can con America just enough that we can have both at the same time that Socialism will eventually win out in the long run. Why? Because a healthy free capitalistic society must disciplined to stay the course culturally following a Judeo/Christian approach and resist the Govt Teat at every turn and a 'people' that recognizes this 'disciplined approach' which gives freedom and individual wealth will avoid this like the plague.

But a 'people' or society that is "dumbed down" and does not recognize this disciplined approach recognizing the benefits of Capitalism and the Judeo/Christian ethics approach and the severe repercussions of giving into the Govt teat(Socialism) will give into the 'flesh' everytime.

Because Socialism attacks the fabric of the family, attacks and takes $$ from the individual, attacks and takes individual freedom and liberties to the point where the 'people' are at the mercy of the State for their very existence. And the sad part is, is that about 40-45% of this country are already buying into this great CON!!

Oil and Water just don't mix folks!! And Obama knows it!!!

I dont get why people are all the sudden up in arms? He was campaiging back on this nonsense back in 2008. His worldview was widely reported by the conservative media. The warning signs were all there.

I think it's disgust over it being expressed more than surprise by the right.

'Knowing and thinking' what you want are two different things. The truly educated "know' what they want but the "truly uneducated" 'think' they know what they want but in reality have no idea the consequence of their choice because they have not truly educated themselves on all sides of the issues "thinking" they have.:thumb:

I don't think so...but it appears to be growing. I mean we've had some of it for about 70 years already and some want more.

Obama sounded like a Republican last night:

"We all want a government that lives within its means, but there are still things we need to pay for as a country -- things like new roads and bridges; weather satellites and food inspection; services to veterans and medical research." ~ Obama

What a con. This is the line the left uses when the taking over healthcare gradually and education etc. They resort to using legit govt spending and fail to mention what they're really doing. I mean why can't congress and Obama discuss de-funding Obamacare and just all his new spending?

exactly why there needs to be some sort of basic Government education test to become a registered voter.

But the Dems would probably complain it would be biased against the poor and minorities......same old song and dance...

Exactly.

The guy quadruples the deficit then wants to be seen as a fiscal hawk for cutting a fraction of what HE added. Whenever he comes out with some "responsible" plan like "freezing discretionary spending" (which was his big thing last year) he always forgets to tell people that he's freezing at a rate that we wouldn't have otherwise reached for decades (absent a "crisis" of course)...

More than warning signs he repeats it over and over. Many times even since he became President he has stated he wants taxes increase for purpose of fairness. Even now, he wants to raise taxes at the worst time, during a struggling economy, because he wants people to "pay their fair share". At first I thought people just weren't listening, but now I've come to the conclusion that our education system has failed badly.
