TMZ reports that Jani Lane, former lead singer of the heavy meatl band Warrant, was found dead in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The gossip site says that the singer's body was found at a Comfort Inn motel in Woodland Hills

As of yet, no official cause of death has been released or determined.

While with Warrant, Lane penned several Top 40 hit singles: "Heaven," "Down Boys" and "Sometimes She Cries for the band's debut disc "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" which peaked at number 10 on the billboard 200. He also penned their signature tune "Cherry Pie," as well as "I Saw Red," and "Uncle Tom's Cabin."

After some personal and business squabbles, Lane left the band in 2004. In January 2008, Lane rejoined. It was the first time that all original members had been in the band since 1992

Lane also became involved in acting in the early '90s. He made a brief appearance in "Caged Fear," and also appeared in "High Strung" in 1991. In 2005, Lane was featured on VH1's reality weight loss show "Celebrity Fit Club 2."

Damn. that little hooker got around!

Pageants

Brown won the Miss Louisiana Teen USA 1987 title and represented Louisiana in the Miss Teen USA 1987 pageant broadcast live from El Paso, Texas in July 1987.[1] She made the top ten in ninth place with an average score of 8.350 after the preliminary competition, placed sixth in interview (8.712), fourth in swimsuit (8.908) and sixth in swimsuit (8.754). Her average combined score of 8.791 for the final competitions was just enough to put her in the top five in fifth place, where she excelled in the final question and eventually placed second runner-up.

Other

Brown won the spokesperson competition on Star Search a record thirteen times and has also starred in TV shows such as Married... with Children (she appeared in 3 episodes) and films such as Last Action Hero (1993). In 1998, she sued Penthouse for featuring a model also named Bobbie Brown.

Brown worked as a model for Budweiser and other companies. She also appeared in music videos, including Great White's "Once Bitten Twice Shy," and "House of Broken Love," and Hurricane's "I'm On To You." She is best remembered as the girl in Warrant's sexually suggestive "Cherry Pie" video released in 1990.[2]

She is currently working on writing a book soon to be out called Serial Rock Dater: Sex, Drugs, and Cherry Pie

In the late 1990s, she hosted the TV infomercial that advertised the eight-CD set called "Big Rock: The 80s Generation."

Personal life

During the shooting of Warrant's "Cherry Pie" video, Brown met lead singer Jani Lane. She eventually left her boyfriend Matthew Nelson for him, and they wed a couple of months later in July 1991. They were married for three years and had a daughter, Taylar Jayne Lane, before divorcing in 1993.

Brown has also dated Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, Jay Gordon from Orgy, Stevie Rachelle from Tuff and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee

I almost bought his house 5-6 years ago. Really fun pad but some weird stuff like a swing in the living room, fur on the walls of the bathroom and a viewing area around the shower in the master.

It's in the middle of nowhere though and a little kid drowned in the pool so I never pulled the trigger...

I got one of their guitar picks from cherry pie concert. It was pretty cool for a pick with lots of art on it. Too bad I can't show it to my kids as it has a naked girl riding a giant penis on the back of it.

I've seen Warrant two or three times over the years - the wife loves that 80s hairband stuff. Not my favorite group, but they put out some good songs and were always solid when I saw them live. Lane would always leave the stage and go out into the crowd at some point during the show - I always thought that was neat. Seemed like a decent guy. RIP

I remember the first time I heard uncle toms cabin - saw the video on mtv. I was blown away. by far the best warrant song imo. I used to have an obscure warrant album called belly to belly and I don't think anything on it was played on the radio, but it's good. my dog chewed that CD up. dammit. I may just go get another one. I was looking for a song off of it (vertigo) to attach but couldn't find it.

I had a friend in junior high/high school that LOVED Warrant. Matter of fact, he had a tattoo that said "DOWN BOYS" on his arm. (heh!)

For that heroic act, he got a 2 second shot in the music video for "Heaven" (Which was shot at Sandstone, if I recall correctly).

Have to think that he (the friend) is somewhere today....sobbing.

I like both hair metal and the Seattle stuff. Now that im older, i can appreciate each for its own merits. I think alot of hair metal fans were mad when the happy, party sounds died out and gave way to the depressing and moody stuff. Whatever, each genre had its day in the sun.
