MAUMELLE, Ark. - Police are trying to figure out what happened to an Arkansas man who was discovered dead in a bathtub with a sleeping television meteorologist.

Homeowner Christopher Barbour, who says he is a friend of 33-year-old KARK weatherman Brett Cummins, told police that he woke up Monday morning and found his friend asleep in his bathtub with a dead man wearing a dog collar lying next to him.

READ THE POLICE REPORT HERE.

Barbour told investigators Cummins had brought a friend that Barbour knew only as "Dexter" over the night before and the three were drinking and snorting drugs.

Barbour said he later went to sleep on his couch, and woke up around 8 a.m. the next morning.

He heard snoring from the bathroom and saw the two men in the tub, which had no water in it. He shook Cummins awake, and the two tried to wake "Dexter."

Barbour told police that Cummins screamed when he saw the discolored face of the man later identified as 24-year-old Dexter Paul Williams, then bolted from the bathroom and vomited in the living room.

Cummins then left the house and promised to return later, Barbour told police. Officers are investigating the death and the medical examiner is awaiting toxicology results to see how Williams died.

Cummins' photo and bio are still on the KARK website.

In a brief story reporting the death on Monday, KARK reported, "[Cummins] will not be on the air, as he is mourning the loss of his friend."

Maumelle is a suburb of Little Rock.

The news that a TV weatherman in Arkansas, Brett Cummins, was found sleeping in a hot tub next to a nude dead man reminded me that many others of his particular profession have run afoul with the law,

T.V. Weatheman Brett Cummins, 33, woke up Tuesday to discover that a man he'd been with the night before was dead beside him in a hot tub, naked and wearing a dog collar, police say.

In Cummins case, police have discovered themes of sex and drugs in connection with the death of Dexter Williams (who was reportedly wearing a dog collar).

However, Cummins is certainly not the first TV meteorologist to get in serious criminal trouble.

Just last year, Heidi Jones, a winsome weather-woman on WABC station in New York was arrested after filing a false attempted sexual assault with the police. At first she claimed that a ‘Hispanic’ male had attacked her while she was jogging in Central Park. She later recanted her story, and was later fired by the station.

Bill Kamal, a popular weatherman in South Florida, was caught in an internet sex sting – he was reportedly seeking to meet up with a 14-year-old boy. He was eventually sentenced to five years in prison. (He claimed he was framed).

Yet another South Florida weatherman, Michael Koolick, was arrested last year on drug charges – he had apparently forged a prescription for painkillers.

Earlier this year, a weatherman at KUSI-TV in San Diego, Joe Lizura, quit his job after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of lewd behavior in public (i.e, he was masturbating in the window of an office building.)

In 2009, Jay Patrick, a former weatherman at WJAC=TV in the Pittsburgh area, was caught in Kiev, Russia after being on the lam for four years. He was originally arrested in 2004 on charges that he sexually assaulted a young girl.

In December 2010, Rick Mecklenburg, a weatherman in South Bend, Indiana, was picked up for making false claims to police – he had alleged that he called the cops complaining that a police squad car backed into his car and that someone was shooting at home.

In 2003, David Rogers, a former weatherman for KYW-TV in Philadelphia was arrested in Cleveland on charges he hit two road workers with his car and sped away. (He had been drinking).

In 2009, a Las Vegas weatherman named John Fredericks was arrested for stalking and harassing a woman he was obsessed with.

And these incidents are certainly not limited to the U.S. either.

In February of this year, a British weatherman for BBC named Desune Coleman was arrested for pointing an ‘imitation gun’ at other motorists while driving down the highway.

In 2010 in Germany, a very popular weatherman named Jörg Kachelmann was arrested on charges that he raped his girlfriend at knifepoint. He was eventually acquitted. (He was reportedly seeing up to 14 different women simultaneously).

Desune's "crime" was pretty darn funny to be honest. People need to learn not to fear man or their devices.

KARK Meteorologist Brett Cummins Resigns
By IBTimes Staff Reporter | September 12, 2011 4:30 PM EDT

KARK meteorologist Brett Cummins has resigned his post at the station after being found asleep next to a dead naked man wearing a dog collar.

The Arkansas television station announced on its 10 p.m. newscast on Friday that Cummins no longer worked for KARK. The station announced that Cummins, who worked at the station since 2001, stopped working for Channel 4 on Friday afternoon but didn't reveal further details.

The weatherman achieved nationwide infamy after a police report hit the Internet that he was found next to the dead naked man in a bathtub.

Christopher Barbour, the resident of the house where the body was found, told police that he witnessed Cummins, 33, drinking and snorting illegal narcotics with Derrick Williams, 24, in the bathtub.

Barbour told police that he left the two men in the Jacuzzi bathtub at around 11 p.m. to fall asleep on a couch. When he returned the next morning he found the two men in the bathtub with no water in it, and woke Cummins up.

"Brett screamed and became ill and left the bathroom and vomited on the carpet in the living room," Roussie wrote in the police report, according to ABC News.

Authorities have not charged Cummins in Williams' death, but are still investigating the death.
