Scenario:

You are kidnapped and with a gun to your head and a goon twisting your arm you are told to vote for one of the current crazy ass-clowns the GOP is offering as presidential candidates. Who would you go for?

Mitt Romney

Rick Perry

Jon Huntsman

Ron Paul

Newt Gingrich

Herman Cain

Michele Bachmann

Rick Santorum

if it were a really big gun, i would probably vote for huntsman, but ron paul would be a close second...

That's my thinking as well. I do not agree with Ron Paul's domestic views, but I do with his foreign policy.

i like some of the things he says about militarism and the enormous cost of our overseas "adventures", but most of his domestic policies are a little extreme, if not downright nutty...

I'm a classical liberal so the thread title still applies to me. Thus, I voted.
Maybe it should have read Progressives or Leftists?

My second choice would be Huntsman pending hearing his FP positions. I am not crazy over the idea that he believed the lie that the nation would default if the debt ceiling wasn't raised on the Piers Morgan program.

Yep.

Even if they are extreme to some of you, just be aware of the fact that he has no plans to put people on the street who have become dependent on govt, but use the cuts in the military to bridge them over. Eventhough, he does have those views for his ideal, hPaul has repeatedly said on the stump, that we didn't get those people dependent overnight. So we can't repeal those things overnight. Thus, to him, it would be wrong to just cut them off. I actually, agree with him on this. I also doubt he would change things like this being too old for a second term.

Plus, Paul has also said he would need the permission of congress. We have checks and balances to soften some of those positions of Paul perceived as extreme by Progressives. One thing he would not do, is govern by decree with executives order when he can't get what he wants legislatively.

No, just Donger—I am one of the only true liberals here. Afterall, it means someone like our Founding Fathers, not one of today's Progressives or Leftists.;)

Oh, look at you, so anti-conformist! Well guess what! I use the word liberal to describe specifically to matters of educational curriculum in Ancient Western Civilization. I propose that we teach only the following subjects: rhetoric, grammar, logic, arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and music. No American history should be taught. I'm a liberal! You're not! Context doesn't matter at all! Look at me! So clever!

BucEyedPea

Well, harumph, I constantly correct those labeling themselves "liberal" as "illiberal liberals." As one socialist, says, you hijacked the word. I can vote here.

I'm disappointed with the CP Liberals' lack of strategy.

You guys should be voting for the most insane unelectable candidate.

That would probably be Cain or Bachmann, followed by Perry.

I can live with Romney. Could probably live with Gingrich, actually, who isn't actually a nutty conservative, despite his reputation in some circles. Santorum and Perry are so conservative they make me puke, and Bachmann and Paul are different flavors of nutcake. The others I don't know a damn thing about.

It doesn't matter. The reason that Bernanke didn't say a thing today is because he didn't want to upstage Obama. He knows Obama is stupid... just a puppet voted into office by people who are dumber than him.

Shit hits the fan next week. Good luck.

Bernanke hinted at adding stimulus. There was no way he was going to announce anything specific today. He'll sit on the sideline knowing what he needs to do and listen to Obama. Whatever Obama says is insignificant, Bernanke has the power and he knows it.

Oh...I just watched the "endofamerica11.com" presentation. It was a sales piece for gold but A LOT of that made sense to me so I'm kind of in an Armegaddon mind set.

Huntsman, Romney, Paul in that order. I threw Paul in there primarily because I believe he is at least sincere in his beliefs...something rare in both the existing parties. Perry strikes me as a self absorbed dick, the consummate politician who really doesn't give a damn about what the average American deals with day to day. Bachmann, bat **** crazy...at least occassionally, Gingrich, Dirty Sanchez, Cain...please.
