Some stadiums are like that. Certain spots on the field are more slippery than others and the home team knows that and will avoid that spot on the field at all cost. Fairly well known tactic used in the NFL.

I kind of miss the old days when football had defenses.

Seriously though, it might not be like the old days, but there's good defense in the NFL.... it's just not what the NFL wants on opening night.

2010 -- 14-9 NO over MN
2009 -- 13-10 Pitt over TN in OT
2008 -- 16-7 NYG over Washington

The casual fan doesn't enjoy scores like that.

Four returns on 12 kickoffs... I don't think anyone has seriously said there would be no exciting returns, and I don't think 1 TD on opening night makes the rule okay.

Why shouldn't they? They have had more touchbacks in this game then the Packers had all last year in Lambeau. It is a stupid rule change
