Fine. Make the bonds callable, slap on an interest rate ceiling, and see if anyone is idiotic enough to loan us 4% money for 50 years or 5% money for 100 years.

If the auction fails, just go back to what we've done before.

Desperate times call for desperate measures... And 50 year and 100 year bonds are definitely that.

It says more about the desperation of the world more than it does about us. If the world economy was healthy, then a 50-year bond auction should fail.

If the world is idiotic enough to loan us cheap money for 50 years, then they are crazed in their desperate search for safety. We should take their money laughing all the way to the bank.

16 TRILLION in debt-it's been over for a long time. We took paper in exchange for our gold and silver. Our country was duped a long time ago, the masses haven't realized it, yet.

I wouldn't bet on 10 years. In 50 we could be a province of China.

We laughed at the Japanese stock market that was down 50% from the highs in the late 80s.

"Stupid Japan!!!! What are they doing? They're Japan and stupid!"

.... starting 10 years ago....

"Well, we can offer bonds like Japan did in the 90s because, ya know, we're in far worse shape!"
