Is it too early? As luck would have it, I don't see us getting the #1 overall pick, but Barkley is a close second.

Your thoughts?

oh yes...a QB is just what the team needs.
along with an O line, D line, a couple of LB's and another Safety

Atleast we have scratched WR off that list. We should be good to go in 5 years at this rate. Right about the time when we need new WRs and RBs.

You build around a superbowl caliber QB. Statistics have the vast majority of them being drafted in the top half of the 1st round. There are some anomalies, but you can't bank on them.

If we have a shot at getting one of the two potentially elite QBs this year, then we should do it. It does no good to build a great team around a mediocre QB or a series of them as we witnessed in the Schottenhiemer years.

no doubt, I am just saying we can't stop at nabbing a great potential QB

Yes because drafting all those other positions have worked out so well for us.

:shake:

This league is all about the QB. You either have one and are legit. Or you don't.

Orton will be a FA, maybe you can be the highest bidder? Nah, I wouldn't wish that upon the guy.

How come whenever I hear the name Matt Barkley I immediately think of this?

You'd think I would think of Charles, but no. Weird.

Who's the 4th string QB who's never taken a snap and plays on kickoff coverage?

That's who we're eyeballing.

never too early to start scouting, you either have a franchise qb or you dont. and even if you do you still need to look for the future. (see colts)

Barkley is a junior, and is committed to getting his degree. I would be shocked if he declared when he has a chance to be the first qb taken in 2013.

If he's committed to getting a degree but passes up the chance to make guaranteed millions in the first round, he's an idiot. The contracts may not be as high as they were but if you're in the top half of the first round you're still making serious money.

Yeah right. Mecca was annoying but at least he knew his football.

Billay is the worst type of poster: annoying as ****, dumb as a rock, and never funny.

Not that I'm any fan of bilay but he has taken a pounding and kept on going. I do think his posting has improved slightly.
