LMAO - That's fucking awesome. That crosses all party lines for common sense.

HOWEVER! We should be able to make up for much of that deficit by taxing and closing the loopholes on corporate jets.............

we're 16 trillion in debt but we've got the money to pay for jets to do flyovers at football games to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of a terrorist attack.

:spock:

1) It's flight time for the crews.

2) It's good advertising.

1. flight crews need flight time and are going to get it whether it is on a fly-over or not

2. the advertising is for the US Armed Services, not the NFL

Save what? You're not saving any money. Pilots need training time flying their birds, and this gets counted as part of that.

A friend of mine was piloting on the flyover a couple weeks ago, Air Force jets from Oklahoma. Those are all part of and included into a training mission. They would be flying anyway.

that.
when I was stationed with VFA-22 in Lemoore CA, our pilots would routinely go on 'cross-county' (not 'literally cross country, but its the term they'd use when they'd go out and have an extra landing/s besides their own) on weekends. Typically Noob pilots with an experienced flight lead. To give Noob pilots flight time; experience planning a 'mission'; or even being a 'flight lead' in some cases.
