So did Bill Belichick his first time around.

I'm concerned the players quit responding to the hothead that is Todd Haley. I know that those kinds of bosses don't last in the real world. It's insubordination that becomes a cancer and the hothead is the problem.

Anyways....It doesn't take a rocket scientist to suggest that Haley could very well be in trouble by mid-season. To his credit..albiet dumb..Haley took full responsibility for that shite-sandwich served up yesterday. And the pre-season was worse than expected. If this is how he preps his team...he's lost them already.

Haley ain't done, until we chalk up barely 4 wins this season. At or under .312 next year, then, he's done.

Look for it, look for it. No, you can't find it. This year's suckage, means a better season next year.

Haley/Pioli pic vs. Rolling Stones Sammy Davis, Jr/Nixon pic = Same Diff.

It's great to know that you'd turn down a NFL coaching job if it meant you had trust your GM on certain things.

I'm sure Pioli and Haley discuss and come to agreements on many personnel decisions, but you'd have to be stupid to think that Pioli doesn't have complete and final say in a dicision like Cassel no matter what Haley or any other coach thought.

When Pioli took the GM job, Cassel was his ace up the sleeve. In reality that ace was really a 3 of clubs and he's been bluffing the entire time. Now it's time to fold and hopefully with a little Luck get a real ace in the draft.

Yes, Haley should have just said fuck it and quit, deciding that reaching the pinnacle of his chosen profession wasn't all that important and burning bridges would be the best thing to do...

I don't know what took place or how it happened, but to just see this situation in two contrasting shades is just silly.

If you don't think Cassel is any good you don't take the job. If the QB fails, the team fails and you know who the blame is going to fall on - the coach. At most Haley should have taken Scott's word for it year 1, but don't keep playing the guy and not give adequate time to a replacement/competition if you don't believe in him. Stanzi should have been given additional time in preseason. Palko should have played the end of this weeks game. What was the point in playing Cassel with a broken rib when you are down 30 points with no hope of a comeback?

OK, but a broken bone can still be called a fracture, that's all anyone has said. A fracture on the ribs is enough to make breathing incredibly painful. A compound fracture of the ribs can puncture vital organs... so yeah...

I see no problem with putting Zorn at the OC spot. I don't want to drop Haley. Lot of season left to make that feeling change, but even with this offseason stuff, I think Haley would be fine if Pioli gave him a QB that Haley could run a real offense with.
