View Full Version : Media Political Outrage as Publicity

Surfing the web and watching TV, two things have appeared repeatedly for the past week.
On the web, 'reports' of death threats against Michael Moore as he's gone about the people's business speaking truth to power.
On TV Moore making the rounds promoting his book, having chummy softball conversations in safe harbors like Colbert, and sparking 'outrageous' exchanges with conservatives in less friendly arenas

[which then promptly make it back to the web as 'must see controversies'].

What say other folks, is this God's work, or just a political version of starlets misplacing sex tapes every time a new movie comes out.
What taste does it leave that Moore seems to be employing every trick of the capitalist trade to haul in his millions for putting his rants to paper.

It seems odd that you focus on someone like Moore when this has been Palin's playbook for a while.

Its been in a shit ton of people's playbook for a while, but not everyone was an anti-capitalist running the playbook this week.

Unless you are a BBQ joint. In that case seeing him rollout of the 1 ton truck needed to transport him is cause for adding on and buying new furniture. The guy is worth a normal quarters worth of income from one visit.
