Let me explain...
Due to some work and previous commitments, I was only able to see a little of Sunday's game. At the time I had to quit watching, it was probably about halfway through the second quarter. I had seen the Lions score on their first drive, but only after McGraw's gift and a couple of stupid penalties. I saw Jamaal's sickening injury.
But I also saw a game that the Chiefs appeared to be seizing control of. The Lions had had three or four straight three-and-outs, the Chiefs offense was running the ball down Detroit's throat (without Charles!), and only Succop and Cassel were keeping the Chiefs from having the lead.
One of the last plays I saw was a running into the kicker penalty after the Chief's D had stuffed the Lions once again. A turning point?
So anyway, as I went about my business I felt fairly good about the game with the Chiefs trailing by a scant 7-3 margin and apparently pushing Detroit around.
The next time I saw a score, it was 34-3.
What the **** happened?!?!!?
I mean, a team that looked to be in control of things deep in the second quarter is now trailing 34-3 in the third quarter?
I would love to hear everyone's opinion on what the hell went so badly wrong...(I mean besides the gratuitous "Chiefs suck!" response)
