View Full Version : NFL Draft Another Draft Bust...

There were many people on here that wanted to draft him as a "safe" pick. Guess even the "safe" picks aren't even safe. Per Rotoworld:

Former No. 4 overall pick Aaron Curry has lost his starting strong-side linebacker job to rookie K.J. Wright.

Athletic and productive at Wake Forest, Curry was highly regarded in the scouting community entering the 2009 draft. He's failed to make impact plays in Seattle, though, managing just 5.5 sacks and one interception as a 30-game starter the past two seasons. He had been removed from nickel packages after a dropped interception and blown coverage last week. The Tacoma News Tribune suggests Curry could go on the trade block. With no guaranteed money left on his contract, Curry can be released in 2012.

It might not technically be a repost. Someone bumped an old thread about drafting Curry and put the info in there.

Well, I didn't know whether people were going to complete 'reposque' so I decided I held the fate of the whole thing in my hands and crossed the T, so to speak.

I was one of only 5 posters here and the coalition (from my count) that wanted us to draft Orakpo and hated you Everette Brown guys.

That is why I quoted his but by the time I did it was a T. I thought I was going crazy. This entire REPOST is tainted in this thread. Damn it. It can only go into the books with an *.

Actually, it did.

Not many people know that, though.

Milkman used to post there around that time, too.

Either Al or Clark, who's gonna pony up for this guy?

I'd shitcan this defense, just to make room for Curry, if there was a DC and LB coach, with enough heart left in them to do so.

It's this type of shit that makes me not give two fucks about Luck. Just about everyone on the board was lining up to have Curry bust a fat one right on their lips and then say "thank you sir, may i have another", only to see this shit a few years later.

No, not "just about everyone" on this board wanted Curry. Not even close. And you do understand the difference between a quarterback and a linebacker, right?

There were a whole lot of people, how about that and the position doesn't matter in this instance. The potential to be a bust is still there, so I don't want to throw in the towel after two games. If we are 0-13 then fuck it, tank the rest, but damn we are 0-2. Let's at least try. Hell for all we know Stanzi might be the one. Luck might be the next Peyton or he might not. Hell, I'll take the next Brady, Rodgers, or Brees too they could be in the draft if we finish lets say 4-12. (And I'm not saying Stanzi is any of those either, just saying it doesn't take the "greatest prospect in the history of the world" to win a superbowl.

20-32 are better than 1-12

exactly and let's not forget about #19 pick - Maclin, who may be the best pick of that draft, all things considered.

Too bad that since 1990, only 13.75% of 0-2 teams make the playoffs. Since there's an 86.25% chance we won't make the playoffs now. . .might as well go for Luck. That will only be reinforced after this weekend when we hit 0-3. Maybe if the stars align, we can finally have a franchise QB.
