APNot every high-profile player listed as questionable this weekend is a lock to play. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Chargers tight end Antonio Gates, officially questionable with a foot injury, will not play against the Chiefs.

Gates did not practice on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

The “questionable” designation literally means that the player’s availability is a 50-50 proposition. For Gates, it’s currently more like zero.

Gates missed six games last season due to injury. Before that, he had played four full seasons without missing a single game. Through the first seven years of his career, Gates played in all but three games.

I think it's a conspiracy by the Bolts who don't want us to draft Luck. But it won't work, Gates' replacement will probably have a "career day" against our D.

Somebody always has to have a "career day" against the Chiefs every week. It's written in the NFL rule book.

Great. Now, if we can get them to play without Ryan Matthews and Eric Weddle.

Mike Tolbert presents far more of a threat than Ryan Matthews.

Shit, I can just see Tolbert breaking 6, 7, 8 different arm tackles on a single play for a TD

Then we'll only lose by 3 TDs.

Progress!

WTH, that's been our problem for all these years? Let's get that crap out of the rule book. Championship!

Supposedly a BoB Sanders is on the roster? Its a bye week, why would Gates be playing anyway?

No he doesn't.THAT'S JUST YOUR OPINION

But seriously, I thought it was common knowledge that Tolbert was better. Even this season.

Ryan Mhews is much more dangerous.

If they were smart they'd start all the backups just to keep injuries down

Ryan Mhews is much more dangerous.

He's pretty good at picking up large gains, then fumbling the ball.

Man, I bet Gates is bummed. He had the chance to set the single game reception record.

This is why I didn't want to touch Gates in FF. Had him last year. Started out the year strong and then started disappearing.

This.

Watched the Bolts this year and Tolbert is struggling to run the ball and Mathews is coming into his own (unfortunately).

Mathews falls over if a gust of wind hits him.

I'd blitz the ever living daylights out of Rivers today. Thats the only way we stop him is to get him on the ground.

Is Ryan Matthews able to shove off pussy vagina-having guido fuckfaces who can't fucking tackle?

He should have a fine game then. But Tolbert's a bowling ball. He's the ideal guy to give the ball to when facing a team like the Chiefs who can't tackle.

Another thing to watch for: Tyson Jackson seems to play against SD better than anyone else.

If we sit back in that shitty zone back end defense Rivers might put up 500

I don't really remember the game, but by looking at the statlines....do you believe me now?

You think it will continue? Personally against a real team i still see tolbert getting the ball in the goal line situations....

Hope I am wrong though I have matthews on the bench on a couple fantasy teams...

Honestly everything I have seen has shown me that they are turning Ryan Mathews into the feature back. Tolbert had an awesome week 1, but it was mostly on receptions. Mathews has carried the ball more in every game. He is super explosive too.

He doesn't have the same power as Tolbert, but Tolbert hasn't been punching it in this year, so maybe they'll turn to Mathews. It looked like they did yesterday near the goal line anyway.

You guys need to send more Chiefs fans down to Sandy Eggo to stir up shit during games there. Light some fires & turn over cars & stuff. Lookit the kinda crap we have to deal with down south:

I don't really remember the game, but by looking at the statlines....do you believe me now?I always did believe you. I do know the Chargers are and were using Matthews as their Tomlinson (if you can call him that).

My point was just that Tolbert's a goddamn bowling ball. Getting him the ball out in space with our weak-ass safeties would have been a great idea for the Chargers.
