I hope they play their collective asses off.

However, with the injuries to the Big Three, I don't have any expectations other than hope that the coaches keep these young guys focused and continue to learn and progress so that when we have a healthy and deeper team next season, with a substantially more forgiving schedule, that these guys are ready to get it done.

Guys like Bailey, Houston, Hudson, Asamoah, Lewis, Flowers, Carr, Belcher, Sheffield, Dorsey, Jackson need to keep working and learning and hopefully the coaching staff throws guys like Stanzi and Powe into the mix to get them up to NFL speed sooner rather than later. You don't learn to play the game on the practice squad.

This is a very young team, but has some talent. But there are some holes that won't be overcome this season, especially with the injuries to Charles, Moeaki and Berry.

Berry was our run defense. Moeaki was Cassel's safety valve. Charles was effectively the offense and made everyone on the line and Cassel look better than they had a right to last season.

Imagine Minnesota without Peterson, Pittsburgh without Polamalu and Dallas without Whitten, combine them with Cassel as your quarterback and then make them face the toughest schedule in the NFL and that's what you get from the Chiefs this season.

Go Chiefs! - but I don't hold any illusions that they aren't going to do anything but struggle mightly this season.

The only "weakness" on this team is the QB...I understand what your saying...it's just unfortunate the chiefs haven't tried to land a good QB be it draft or free agency....sad...and the hunts are going to pay for it...

You are right. It's much better to go 4-12 instead of 0-16. It's so much more respectable. Maybe next year, we can go 9-7 with an easy schedule, wouldn't that be grand? Ooh, maybe we can get lucky and sneak into the playoffs again one of these years. Who cares if we don't win any play-off games, the fact that we get there every 4 years is all that matters!

I could see how one would not want to sacrifice a winning season for a chance at true greatness in the future, even though it still would not be very smart. But being unwilling to sacrifice a losing season is just mind-bogglingly idiotic.

The fact that said defense has been on the field basically the whole game and put in the red zone to begin with because of 9 turnovers in two games has something to do with that.

Cassel and the offense is the primary reason that things have gone to hell.

You ask a lot of your defense when you keep giving the opposition the ball in good to great field position, and the average start for opponents have been the 43 yard line.

But look around the league.

The only defenses that are having any succes are the taems playing the weak sisters who can't move the chains and score points.

The Saints, the Patriots, the Packers are all winning shootouts.

The Steelers gave up 38 points to the Ravens.

Do some research and you'll find that yards per play and yards per game are up, and have been increasing incrementally through the last ten years.

You can not win with defense in this league anymore.
The rules are set up to favor offenses far too much to succeed playing that way.

You win with offense, and the only way to do that is by putting a QB behind center that can compete with other QBs.

If we win, that might mean that the signs this team was showing in the two early games may have been anomalies and that we may be a team that just had a hiccup and is still ascending.

I dont think we have a chance today and will be destroyed, but either way I have a reason for optimism.

Lose + closer to adding a piece that should help us win big games in the future

Sure, defense still has a place, but you're never going to see teams win championships on the strength of their defense anymore, unless you see some rules changes to give us back defense.

These days, you can only hope that they can make a stop or two more than the other guys, and force a couple more turnovers.

And there's no question that the Chiefs defense still has problems to be resolved.

But the bottom line is, winning today starts at QB.

Doesn't surprise me that the dumbest poster in this forum doesn't want a franchise QB.

If we do suck for enough games and draft Andrew Luck #1 overall, you're not allowed to root for him. You want Cassel? You get Cassel.

aaaah, SNR, you are still following me? I'm starting to think you have a crush on me.

Simple: Losers find a way to lose. Athletes want to always win. Are you saying you are a loser? :)

no shit , I'm getting really tired of the Luck suckers around here that think we are one player away from being competitive, like cassel is the one who has given up 40+ points two weeks in a row. Spin it however you want the chiefs defense is playing god awful. And that is the main reason this team is failing.

The offense, particularly the passing offense is godawful. What's the reason for that?

Look, pricks, I'm going to pull for this team to win, no matter what. I thumb my nose at you turdballs that are actively pulling for a loss.

I do reserve the right to change my mind at halftime, though.

It's after the first touchdown by the opposing team for me...wait...we can't kick a field goal either...never mind...

Through 2 weeks:

Total offense (yards): 30th
Total offense (points): 32nd
Passing offense: 32nd

Actually, that statement about "nobody" would be incorrect. You need to reread. Please go back and play in your sandbox.

Brandon Flowers is injured.

Go root for the Chiefs to win with Brandon Carr and the Guidos in the secondary.

Fucking moron.

Sad, you use the fact of a player injury in a lame attempt of an insult.

Please go away and beat off to a picture of yourself since you love yourself so much.

So you admit that you can't understand simple insults. So much for that "PhD" in waste management.

Just go away and and virtual stalk someone else. This was a fun thread for a while.

Chiefs are sucking, yet only losers want their team to lose.

Sorry, I hope a miracle occurs, and the Chiefs win.

A miracle would be the Chiefs completing a downfield pass.

A miracle would be you finding your head, with it being so far up Clark Hunt's penny-pinching ass.
