The Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/kansas-city-chiefs) play the Indianapolis Colts (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/indianapolis-colts) in Week 5 and the quarterback they may have expected to see before the season, QB Peyton Manning (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/2807/peyton-manning), won't be on the field.
It remains to be seen whether QB Kerry Collins (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/2845/kerry-collins), who was signed in the offseason, will be there as he recovers from some sort of injury suffered last weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/pittsburgh-steelers).
If the Collins injury is serious, the Colts may consider signing another quarterback and that quarterback could be familiar to the Chiefs. Sources says Colts are working out QB Dan Orlovsky (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1490/dan-orlovsky) and Brodie Croyle (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/2361/brodie-croyle) today as they consider roster addition.
Croyle, who wasn't re-signed by the Chiefs, spent about a week with the Arizona Cardinals (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/arizona-cardinals) in the preseason.
QB Curtis Painter (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/71481/curtis-painter) came in for Collins last week so a lot of things would have to go wrong in Indy for the Chiefs to see Croyle in Week 5.

How freaking awesome would it be if Croyle came out and got his first career win against us, while at the same time assisting us in staying in the Luck race. :hmmm:

Croyle will get his first win, look like a hof.

Chiefs will trade a 2nd for him and give him a 5yr 60mil deal, rinse/repeat and decide they don't need luck if they have the 1st pick

This is not good if he plays in regards to the SFL campaign. He is better than Cassel at losing...

Not sure what to think of this. 1st inclination is that the Colts are doing the standard 'bring in someone from the opponent's old team' deal. If so, that's good in that it means they're still trying to win. But then, why not bring in Garrard? A team you play twice a year.

:hmmm:

Sweet southern tea..

Am wanting Brodie to play so they can show his wife on tv again. I'm sure the camera man will be all over that.

Wow the Colts are trying to pull out a secret weapon and below the belt type move against the Chiefs in the Suck for Luck competition.

The Chiefs can counter this.

Painter looked pretty good. They have had the guy backing up Manning for five years now, what the fuck is he there for if he doesn't play in this situation?

This is what I've been thinking all along? Why have Painter if your not confident enough to use him over Kerry freaking Collins.

I have to assume this is sarcasm as the 10 games he started in KC tells you all you needed to know about what Croyle can do.

We already have the perfect counter. I've been hearing from a little bird that Damon Huard has been seen house shopping in Leawood. Well...several miles from Leawood...in the utopia of Raytown. But hey, he can afford what he can afford.

The teams that could use Garrard's services would rather just forfeit the few wins he could bring them. Because they'd rather get Luck.

How can that guy even be considered for jobs? Does that wife of his have private conversations with owners and GMs?

You are not real smart.

Dude can't beat out Orlovsky for a B/U job on a team with no QB.

There is no more proof needed. Not that anymore proof was warranted anyway.

Honestly, I would love to see him just go light it up and then land a starting job somewhere if he could just stay healthy. He's a great kid with a great arm. They never let him stand up long enough to use it, but he's still got it. I've just conceeded to the fact that he doesn't seem to be able to stay healthy.

He doesn't have an NFL brain. He can't read a defense quickly to save his life.
