Despite his production "The Show" is clearly a much better all around player than last year. I don't know what happened.

Perhaps he got married.

Might have had a kid.

Lawyer might have told him the tit was about out.

Whatever, he's playing TO HIS ABILITY this year. He keeps this up we might beat a division rival...

I think he showed by running away from a corner and a safety on a slant that he has speed. He can get separation and he really has taken that next step as far as I'm concerned. I also like that Cassel has figured out that if I just throw him the ball a few times a game even if he isn't open he can make plays.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is looking at some trades that he thinks make sense, but likely won’t happen before Tuesday’s trading deadline. Included in his proposed deals is a swap of receiver Dwayne Bowe by Kansas City to Tennessee. In the deal, Schefter has the receiver-hungry Titans giving the Chiefs second and fifth-round picks to the Chiefs.

It would surely be a good deal for the Titans, who could use a veteran a receiver as they try to continue their playoff push.

But would it be a prudent deal for the Chiefs? I don’t think so.

Yes, Bowe is a free agent at the end of the year. So, if they don’t think they can or want to extend him, getting valuable picks is better than losing Bowe outright.

But I think the Chiefs need to keep him. They have plenty of cap room and he is a core player. The Chiefs will be better with Bowe than without him. He is heating up after a brilliant season last year. He and quarterback Matt Cassel have a terrific rhythm together.

I know the Chiefs drafted Jon Baldwin in the first round and signed Steve Breaston in free agency. But this offense could be very dangerous with all three of these receivers.

Kansas City general manager Scott Pioli has done an outstanding job in giving his core players contract extensions. The fact that Bowe has not been given a new deal yet could be a sign that there is hesitation on one of the two sides.

Maybe a 2012 first, 2013 first and a 2012 third...

I really can see Pioli trading Bowe. Bang-for-your-buck, free agent receivers are not. It would have to be a pretty blockbuster deal, however. Scenario: we pick 5th and the colts pick first. How do you think they would feel about a swap of firsts for Bowe? Maybe you could even get a third out of them or something?

Dumb......it woud be stupid to trade Bowe in the prime of his career and damn near would make me give up being a fan of this team.

He's a receiver. No matter how good he is, if the Chiefs got a really good package for him it would not be stupid to trade him.

That's really beside the point because you first have to have him on your roster. I would rather see the Chiefs extend him so they don't have to franchise him.

Kansas City general manager Scott Pioli has done an outstanding job in giving his core players contract extensions. The fact that Bowe has not been given a new deal yet could be a sign that there is hesitation on one of the two sides.

The first sentence is true, the second sentence is speculation, so we have no reason to believe they aren't working on something as we speak. Pioli extended Jamaal in December of last season, we have no idea what is going on behind the scenes.

If Bowe keeps beasting, he could desire top 5 money, and I don't really care how much he gets, whatever it takes is worth it.

After his inconsistent first few seasons, and maturing into the player he is now, I don't see a risk of him falling off, or being a contract year player.
