Has anyone else had problems with Firefox 7's constant freeze ups and not responding. I have no other problems with IE or chrome, both I don't like.

I rolled Firefox back to ver. 6 and havn't had the problems.

Just curious if this is just me or others are having the same situation?

Oh BTW I'm running it on Win 7 x64.

Firefox is a bloated pig, and I have a six-core system with 8 GB DDR3....

Use Chrome.

I also have frequent freeze up with FF 7.0.1. So updated to Firefox 8.0 beta 4. Since the upgrade, no more freeze ups or hangs. Also it is a lot faster and responsive.

If you are interested, give it a try.

When Chrome will FINALLY come out with a NoScript addon, I'll change. Until then I like being able to block what scripts I want.

Copying Chrome's numbering conventions. They're moving toward auto updates soon as well.

FF 8 is available ... although they still haven't fixed the memory/flash/bloat issue

I don't know what the hell they are thinking, the memory issue should be top priority.

That was their "selling point" from moving from 6 to 7. They said they fixed the memory issue then. :shake:

as far as i can tell all they did was just add a 'Plug-in container' task running in the background to force the release of memory and to make it look like firefox was using less memory.

they love to blame add-on too but you can go into safe mode and you still get the lag.

Yeah, many of the fixes I searched for mentioned running with no addons but I still had the same problem.

I now have 8-beta installed and running fine, so far.

All 3 of the major browsers have been pissing me off lately what with all their updates and shit. I use Firefox, but it seems if I have an issue if I just use IE it works.

Thanks for the extensions suggestions. I have started playing around with chrome, I like the fast loading time. Will check out some of these extensions.

Glad to hear it's not the PC I just bought. The last few FF updates haven't been very good. Six was horrible and I'm getting the "lag" with Seven.

That's a big ass list.

Maybe they should just fix that stuff instead of making everyone go through fixing it themselves.

I actually went back to 6 I was having so many problems with 7. Upgraded to 8 yesterday and haven't seen a glitch at all.

I have been using Chrome for a while, now trying FF8. Seems OK.
