FIL is wanting a leather golf glove. Since it is sports related I have been put in charge of getting him one despite not playing the game. :)

Guy wants a leather palm and is an avid golfer. Any ideas?

Buy two of them so he can switch out throughout his round.

I assume he's right handed. That being the case he'll need a glove to go on his left hand. Then of course there is a size issue.

FootJoy makes some good gloves...... You should throw in a Chiefs ball mark repair tool as well.

FootJoy StaSof is the softest widely available glove out there. I don't know what his handicap is but if hes a high handicapper you might look into a FootJoy WeatherSof or SofJoy. The two are a mix of real leather and composite so they would last a little longer while taking a bit more abuse.

FootJoy makes some other very nice fully composite gloves and mix gloves that are in some ways superior to leather that you may want to consider.

Oh shit, I found that Corona I had stashed away on the night before Thanksgiving. It was out on the back porch nice and cold.

Footjoy. Simple, but I've tried a ton and never had one better. Had a mizuno glove once that I liked quite a bit too but Footjoy can't be beat for what youre paying IMO.

I rotate between a Nike, Foot Joy and a titleist. All 3 are about the same. The Nike seems to breathe better.
All 3 do well when they get wet.

Do you know what kind of clubs he has? Some dudes like to keep brand consistency (glove, clubs, sometimes balls)

this is actually what I would say as well. Figure out what clubs he has and go with that brand. A glove is a glove (IMHO), so get him one that matches.

Have MIL look and see what brand he already has.

Or just give him 100$ golf warehouse money

I'd ask first if the glove is intended for winter or warm-weather play.

I've become tired of the 5 dollar gloves that are good for a round or two, so I've made the move to a more durable glove. I like the Callaway Ion gloves (http://www.budgetgolf.com/CALLAWAY-ION-GLOVE-p-21682.html).

Ya, I am NOT that guy (Between woods, irons, wedges and putter I have 5 brands of clubs alone), but I play with some guys who are. One guy in particular is a walking Callaway billboard. Clubs, bag, shoes, balls, glove and usually a hat.

Sounds like the guy was trying to give you a gift idea that was easy and inexpensive. If he was that anal about it, he would have been more specific.

Get him a footjoy and stop making it harder than it needs to be.

Just guage how big his hand would be by yours and try a couple on and call it good.

You can get a FootJoy glove for $15 probably.
