I keep watching these blowouts like Philly's loss to New England today and other beatings over the last few weeks and it seems that the starting QB never comes out for the losing team anymore. Brady left early in the 4th but Vince Young keeps going down 25 points late in the 4th.

Why don't coaches pull the QB's anymore? Is it all about the QB stats? Playing time and snaps for a bonus?
I think it's really dumb to risk a QB down by 25 with 5 mnutes left. They put in all the scrubs in during an NBA blowout and they have less risk of a serious injury.

Am I missing something?

:hmmm:

Honestly, I don't think it was ever that common.

Uh, Vince Young IS the back-up....It's a real Trial for Kafka. A metamorphosis at QB when the game is out of hand would probably be welcome. I just wish the Chiefs would do the same with the Castle

So if Vince Young gets hurt, then their #1 and #2 are out. So then they are stuck with #3. I still think it's dumb to leave your starting QB in down 25 with 2 minutes to go. Guys are tired, game is out of range, and all you risk is an injury to add some numbers to the QB's stats

I remember many times the backup coming in, guys like Danny White for Staubach, Terry Gilliam and Terry Hanraty for Bradshaw, and lot's of others
