If yes, would you please do the following?

1. Post pictures.

2. Ask her what a cool clothing store is where I can buy a gift card for my niece. Gotta be online shopping because my niece lives in a place that's 12 hours by horse to the nearest civilization

I'm leaning toward Forever 21. Or maybe Aeropostale or however it's spelled.

That's too generic. I need it to look like I spent at least five minutes thinking about it instead of just two or three.

Our daughter is in the middle of the age range.

1. None of our cameras will work to post on line pictures.

2. She still shops at American Eagle, but if the target audience seems to be a little younger. My wife suggested the Gap or Bannana Republic as the next step in the journey.

Nice proximity picture.

I'd like to do Forever 21, but there's not one anywhere near. My understanding, though, is that it's a very popular establishment. I'm just not sure if she'd rather wait until spring harvest or whenever they take the mule team into town, and buy in person.

Hmm. Gap. Banana Republic. Those seem reasonable.

We need to know the amount, actually. You can't get anything at the Buckle for less than $100.

You're pretty awful at holiday shopping, ya know?

lol and no to Aeropostal...

How about The Buckle or American Eagle?

You buy a Gap gift card it can be used at Old Navy and a host of other clothing stores.

Depends on what she's into. Gap you probably can't go wrong....

But I'd put Banana Republic right there with Aero.

You have to be careful with those names. It's like wearing an Affliction Tee

Have you ever been in a Banana Republic? You'd recommend the Gap but not BR?? That doesn't make a lot of sense considering BR is a very, very formal Gap (I'd say more formal than Express). BR doesn't sell t-shirts with their logo on it..

Here's a bunch of girls listing stores. I have no idea how old they are, or why I'm posting this. I think it's because I'm scared to commit to a store.

Just going by what the women in my life tell me. My wife is 24 and all her friends and sisters are in that age group.

Just has a connotation around here as being very "Douchie"

See, I'm concerned about Aeropostale, too. I don't want to get her a certificate if it's one of those stores that sells nothing but their logo, like Hollister, and I wasn't sure if Aeropostale was like that.

I don't get the whole Hollister deal. You buy a shirt that just says "Hollister" on it in enormous print? What's up with that?

Rain Man
12-21-2011, 05:47 PM

Man. If only there was one anywhere close to her at all, that'd be a no-brainer. We have one of those stores across the street from our office and it's like catnip to young women.

Mmmmm, probably not. Nieces don't get anything that has any sort of sexual connotation at all. It's a firm policy.

Aeropostale shirts and Dulce Gabbana sunglasses define a SoCal Guido.

Charlotte Russe and Wet Seal are right there with Forever 21. They're practically the same freaking store IMO.

Wet Seal is rising fast on my list. I've never heard of Charlotte Russe but apparently it's in the nearest mall, too (which is 70 or 80 miles away, but still the nearest mall).

I'm starting to tilt strongly toward Wet Seal. I have no idea what it is, but all indicators are positive. I'm worried that the Gap might be a little too conservative for her.

Of the three I would suggest Banana Republic for the 21-25 y/o female.
