Pick 12 - Kansas City Chiefs

David DeCastro, Offensive Guard, Stanford

Notes: Drafting DeCastro anchors the Kansas City run game, and keeps Matt Cassel healthy. That's most important.

Pick 44 - Kansas City Chiefs

Janoris Jenkins, Cornerback, North Alabama

Note: If Brandon Carr leaves in free agency, the Chiefs will need to move fast to replace their up-and-coming corner.

Pick 75 - Kansas City Chiefs
Josh Chapman, Nose Tackle, Alabama

Pick 108 - Kansas City Chiefs
Kendall Reyes, Defensive End, Connecticut

Pick 140 - Kansas City Chiefs
Terrance Ganaway, Running Back, Baylor

Pick 172 - Kansas City Chiefs
Rishard Matthews, Wide Receiver, Nevada

Pick 204 - Kansas City Chiefs
Derek Wolfe, Defensive End, Cincinnati

So you're predicting we let Carr walk?

DeCastro is a solid pick but keeping Cassel healthy is not important.

i like the chapman and ganaway picks, don't know anything about the other players

I'd rather draft Konz and leave Hudson at guard if we have to go interior line with that pick. Center is the biggie that must get filled this year.

If we had a quarterback, that would be a damn fine draft that could put us over the top.

I'd like Ganaway in late rounds, the rest of that draft would make me want to puke.

This.

Janoris Jenkins is a MFing S-T-U-D. He was First Team All-SEC at Florida and got kicked off the team prior to this season for getting caught with bud multiple times. He has top-15 talent. His style of play is very similar to Flowers: an undersized (although 2" taller than BFlowers), man-coverage ball-hawk.

I would tend to disagree. Hudson is the C of the future. C needs to be in camp from day 1 and get it down. Starting a rookie C, potentially during a period of changing QBs, is asking for trouble, even with a good prospect like Konz.

The Wisconsin ORG is also a fine looking prospect, possibly available a bit later too...

interesting, I wondered why a small school guy was so high...

"high" indeed...

and if he gets the lowest score on the Wonderlic for the CB position, that will count as a "+" for the Gators again this year, as Josh Portis did last year...

Except neither finished their collegiate careers with Florida.

That's why the Chickens won the TFG Wonderlic Odds last year.

Chickens 3
Gators 2+
LSU 2

Gators had Marcus Gilbert winning OT with an 11, Carl Johnson with the lowest overall and OG score at 6, and Josh Portis, the +, at 15 winning QB - (Supplemental Draft not counted, sorry Ohio State fans... what was Terrelle Pryor's score?? - LOL!!!!!!!!!!!)

Oh. This isn't your personal draft. My bad. Didn't pay attention to the link.

DeCastro - not glamorous, but he might be one of the best players in the draft. Most likely the best available player at #12.

Jenkins - shut down corner who lacks ideal height. Good value in round 2. I'd take him even if Carr is resigned.

Chapman - doesn't look that strong at the point of attack.

I like the Ganaway pick. If they take a WR I'd prefer a faster guy than Rishard. Instead of DE's I'd focus on ILB, S depth and/or OL depth.

Swap out CB and DE, and replace with ILB and S and I'd like it better

By the way,

The DeCastro pick is an abomination. Guards in the first round are an insanely stupid investment.

There has been 4 guards taken in the first round in the last 10 years. Steve Hutchinson, Kendall Simmons, Logan Mankins and Ben Grubbs. Its not like its a very often occurance.

I don't really like taking a guard that high in the 1st round. If you're gonna take an offensive lineman that high, it should be a tackle. I'd rather just trade down and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Janoris Jenkins is anything BUT the "right 53". Sorry, but it wont happen. Justin Houston is a good person who made a minor mistake. Jenkins is on thug level and would only cause distraction in the locker room.

Is that why he's at North Alabama and not Auburn or Alabama? I admit, I know nothing about him.

He was a Gator. Has massive talent, but likes weed. Who doesn't? But he repeat offended and was kicked off the team. I suppose only knock on him if he got kicked out of the league for substance abuse.

I bet the Raiders pick him up. Well if Al were still there most likely.

Let's see...should we pick the GUARD or roll the dice on an incredible QB prospect?
