Have the Chiefs promoted the LB coach to DC? If so is there a vacancy for LB coach? If so I vote for this guy:

Heck I'd take him as DC with future HC possibility.

Smart's Alabama D is probably better than many NFL ones.

But would you take him in mid air?:hmmm:

That would be interesting if he got the job.

Bring him in for a interview. Plus if he gets hired he could advise the Chiefs organization on draft picks of the SEC players in particular.

Is Don Adams even still alive?

And does he know anything about football?

I don't know?

I already made my celebrity death list & I didn't think about using him.

i thought the same while watching the NC game last night.

would be nice to bring some new blood in and it would be perfect for Crennel to bring him along.

There is a chance that if came to KC for a couple of years as DC, he could soon be a HC of an NFL team.

That's what I was implying but DaKCMan seems to think he only wants to coach in college.

No it's not. He could come in and take over as DC with a promise that if his performance is good in the next two years he'll be the FO's front runner to become our HC when Romeo retires. There are ways to make a position like this attractive to an up and coming coaching talent.

You're going to promote a guy who has no NFL experience as you're D-Cord and coach in waiting? You're about as dumb as the guys currently running the Chiefs.

Are you so dense that you did not understand the BIG IF I put in my post? Next time you call somebody dumb I'm gonna assume you are actually talking to yourself,... which is not surprising.

He's not interested in a coach-in-waiting type position. He's not coming here. Forget about it.

Romeo Crennel and Eric Mangini: Romeo Crennel surely deserved to have the interim tag removed and named Kansas City Chiefs head coach. He earned a second chance to prove himself as the main man after compiling a record of 24-40 record in four years as Browns coach under then-GM Phil Savage.
Now I would expect Crennel to phone Eric Mangini and gauge his interest in joining the Chiefs as defensive coordinator.

Mangini was Crennel's first choice to join him in Cleveland as Browns coordinator in 2005, but Patriots coach Bill Belichick pulled a power play and swayed Mangini to stay with a promotion to defensive coordinator. Belichick made the move while competing in the AT&T National Pro Am Golf Tournament in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Crennel was like a dad to Mangini during their time together with New England. The big question in Kansas City is whether GM Scott Pioli would allow Crennel to hire Mangini. Though they worked alongside each other in Cleveland and New England under Belichick, Pioli and Mangini are not exactly bosom buddies.

His "son," by all accounts is an asshole. I wonder if Romeo's methods will after all bring out the "asshole" in his players as well.

well if Mangini is a hard ass then maybe it would bring some balance to Crennel's squishy, cuddly oreo cookie middle.

Hell ... maybe Mangini will install a decent blitz package.

Listen you Pedophile looking mother fucker, Kirby Smart has as much of a chance of becoming DC of the Kansas City Chiefs as Rich Gannon does. This thread is fucking stupid and not thought provoking at all.

I really don't mind Mangini as DC. I was saying that a bit of toungue-in-cheek. Just don't want Mangini to be in line for HC here.

Thats a great way to look at it.

As for the second part, i think Romeo proved he could dial up a blitz in the second half of the season, once Houston got his bearings.
