I think the worst part is that those prices don't include ticket prices. I would think for 80 grand you would get a "ownership card" of some kind and could just flash it and walk through the gate.

That's essentially the same way it works at Arrowhead with the suites, except that you can't even buy it, you have to lease it. The prices are about the same, too.

Last year my buddy and I (and a bunch of other people) were considering getting a suite for a game to celebrate a bunch of birthdays at one time. I was thinking that with all the different levels of suites they have now at Arrowhead we could surely get the lowest one. We had budgeted $10k to blow on a single game, and had in our minds that we were ready to do it.

We went up there with our $10k number and said we want a suite for a game. They basically laughed at us. They said their lowest suite is $30k...per game!!?? And you have to lease those things for years in advance. Again, you don't own it, and that's for the smallest one they have.

The only thing they would give us for $10k was a "field box" which is basically a roped off section of lower level seats with a little heater and some food...that you have to buy extra.

I decided I stick with my regular season tix for that game and forget about giving them $10k since they didn't want to give me something a little nicer. I guess the joke's still on me.

All of that said, I am talking about suites. If this really is for one, single, seat, then that's pretty crazy. There are people that will pay it, though, and the strength of the team will either greatly enhance or greatly reduce the value.

Yep. This likely wouldn't work in a place like KC, but with Silicon Valley being in SF, there are some people who can afford and will buy those seats.

If I was rich enough with a disposable income, I'd be on it.

I think it'll be wealthy companies looking to schmooze their clients picking up these seats.

I'm not an account, but using something like this for a business expense. Is it tax deductible? If so, another nail in the coffin for the regular joe fans gone way commercialized.

as TV's get better and better, people will continue to stop going to these games...

if I were an NFL team, I'd just embrace it and build a stadium with 20,000 less seats...better home field advantage for your team, louder stadium, etc...

they don't make their money on selling these games out anyways, TV deals are only going to get bigger, and bigger, and bigger

the NFL feeds our gambling addictions and it's the one sport where you can be a true diehard and never miss a minute of anything..

the NFL is America, but we're lazy fucks who like our couch and not spending money so they should adapt to us

You're right, my beer and nachos are way cheaper when I'm on the couch.
