Strange hire considering the bomb they just laid in the playoffs.

However, I posted this on one of these threads the other day... you never know. Mike McCarthy had the 32nd ranked offense in both points and yards when Green Bay hired him. Meanwhile Super Bowl coordinators like Haley, McDaniels and Spags all bombed out.

I didn't pay much attention to the other two, but in reflecting, Haley truly did buck the establishment on many issues.

I can just imagine how much Haley's appearance towards the end, twisted some "old guard" undies.

His defiance on the end of game custom, was clearly orchestrated after he let his feelings show.

Of course there were other issues.

Well KC hasnt been much of a success story for many in the last how many years?

We are kind of stagnant...

BTW, Jeff Chaduay? (spelling) was on 810 today and felt that this isnt a home run hire, nor a hire that gets the Chiefs anywhere. AND said that he wouldnt be surprised if Pioli was gone in 2-3 with Crennel...

His OC hire is what's going to make or break him. He has the defense playing at a high level and will no doubt focus a lot of his time to that side of the ball.

He was the best remaining candidate for this team. This was the weakest coach market I can ever remember.

Personally I want to like Romeo and want to give him a chance. However he has one strike against him with me and that is not letting Stanzi start or play in the last game of the season. If he isn't willing to play a rookie QB next season or give Stanzi a shot to prove himself with addiquit playing time during preseason and reps with first team in practice then he will be just as useless of a coach going forward with that we had over the years.

We are a stale team with Cassel or Orton going into next season. It's past time for change and change of venue on aproach with the QB situation. So I'm not against Romeo but unless he makes that major change we are fucked with him. The sooner we get a young gun going the sooner we can start building for a championship. jmo.

Do you honestly feel Crennel would demand or request that the chiefs cut Cassel and draft a qb.

If he can pull off something like that. By replacing orton and Cassel. Then the man would have earned my respect. Regardless of skin color.

Jeff CHADIHA, has been on 810 for a few years. He's from KC I think, and I haven't heard him say very much he's ever liked about the team. It's not a home run hire, but I didn't see a home run hire. Based on how the team played for him, it makes sense. I feel more comfortable with Crennel, than any assistant. Fisher would have made a big splash, but thinking about it, I don't know if I'd expect him to turn KC into some powerhouse.

I didn't see any appreciable improvement in terms of discipline or game management. Doesn't mean RAC is destined to fail, but he damn sure better put together one hell of a staff, particularly someone who can see the macro-level, while RAC focuses on the defense.

Overpaid 3 fold to do so, even.I'd gladly give up major picks for the best QB prospect in the upcoming draft.

Win or lose, the team needs to attempt to become better at the most important position and now is the PRIME TIME to make that happen.

MANY of the upper-echelon QBs are nearing the end, which leaves it wide open for a QB like Luck to dominate in the near future.

The next decade probably belongs to Rodgers, Stafford, and Luck, as the big dogs always in the hunt.

Why do we justify settling?

Luck or no-luck at all.
