This will be a repeating feature. We will take each position in turn. For each position we will look at the players we already have on the roster and whether those player should be retained, resigned, traded, or cut. We will also discuss whether we need help in the draft, trades or free agency. The next position seems at this time to be a team strength, LINEBACKER.

Currently on the roster we have:

Derrick Johnson under contract cap hit $3million (probably inaccurate, no bonus available)
Demorrio Williams under contact under contract 2.1 million cap hit
Andy Studebaker no info
Justin Houston approx $700k cap hit
Cameron Sheffield under contract $538k cap hit
Jovan Belcher RFA
Corey Greenwood RFA

Notes: cap numbers are hit if re-signed
Hali was listed under DL, must have been tired
Brandon Siler was just re-signed, no figures avail

Didn't they just sign Greenwood?Yep. So we are talking about whether we re-sign a restricted free agent in Belcher-the rest of this is already resolved. Believe this thread is over, because RESTRICTED means we retain his rights, if we want to retain him and I'm sure we will.

Seems to be an alternative to drafting their running back. It would upgrade that position.

Didn't they just sign Greenwood?

Just found that, looks like a 4 year extention through 2015. Since he led the team in ST tackles, that's usually a good move.
