Forgetting everyone else, who do you think wins in a straight run off between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul?

I guess we find out in Virginia. Call your shot on who will be the victor.

I picked Romney because I think that's what will happen which is what you asked. I also think VA is DC territory as another reason.

I'm fine if Romney wins it....to counter Newt who I see is someone who must not win the nomination.

Here is what The Hill thinks:

Ron Paul will defeat Mitt Romney in the Virginia primary (http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/presidential-campaign/207013-ron-paul-will-defeat-mitt-romney-in-the-virginia-primary)

I think if I was a Newt supporter in Virginia, I'd do everything I could to defeat Mitt.

I saw some poll where Mitt gets about 65% of the vote vs Ron Paul.

WoW! I hope he is right and I am wrong. That would be nice.

Yeah, good point. Oh what an interesting race this is turning out to be.

Ron Paul is losing in Virginia to Romney by more than 40 points.

I watched the last debate and Paul just came off as not quite with it. I am not saying what he said was entirely wrong it's just the way he "sounded". Kinda like an old man starting to lose it a little.

You can't possibly believe this. I haven't seen a poll where Paul draws double digits.

Back in October, before Gingrich drew any real support, Romney led Paul by 20-40 points.

What are you talking about? He had double digits in Iowa, NH and SC. They weren't high but they were double digits.

Why does the author suggest that it would be such an odd result if Ron Paul were to win Virginia on his own merits since Virginia is "one of the states with the largest number of soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen in the country."?

Why does he think that "[t]he state with the Pentagon and with the home port for all east-coast based air-craft carriers... is not and never will be Paul country"?

People around here have been telling me that Ron Paul is the favorite of our military. Could they be wrong?

Who can guess the author's motivations? I think Ron Paul will do very well in Virginia.

That would be a good point if this thread wasn't about Virginia.

Are his motives in question here or the credibility of his analysis?
