11. Kansas City Chiefs: Ohio State OT Mike Adams You have to think after the struggles the Chiefs had at right tackle last season, drafting a guy like Adams who has the size and athleticism to handle powerful NFL pass rushers is a must for them this offseason.

At least they said Right Tackle this time instead of Left Tackle.

I'm not a big fan of RTs in the first 15. And Adams? Is he better than the Iowa dude?

The problem is that there is no real free agent RT this year. RT is a huge need. They need someone who can start day 1.

This years draft class doesn't leave too many options - take a RT in the first round among guys like Reiff, Martin or Adams. (Assuming current projections are true). Those guys, plus Kalil who will be off the board, are the consensus top tackles in the draft. After them, the rankings are all over the place.

Right now there really don't appear to be any RT's in the early 2nd round. That means you have to hope a Massie or Schwartz fall to you in the 3rd or so, AND that they are ready to start week 1.

Not a good situation.

They had no problem trading up for Moeaki. Who's to say they can't trade up for Massie if he starts slipping in the 2nd round.

You want to give up a 3rd and 4th round pick for Massie in the 2nd?

So in his mock we picked Adams over Reiff and Martin. Sweet.

Has there been a mock draft in the last ten years that did not involve the Chiefs selecting an OT in the first round? :p

Right on, draft RT in the 1st...sign Nicks and Manning.

You and many others are going to be sorely disappointed when the only FA QB we sign is Jason Campbell or Brady Quinn.

Why on earth do people think Nicks is a fit here?

NICKS IS A POWER BLOCKER. He is humongous. He is not a zone blocking fit.

The saints run a ZBS with some power blocking interspersed. He is athletic enough to run both schemes, which is a reason we should target him. If we have him over the left side, when we need power running, we can take it to the left behind him and albert.

IMO we could use a power blocker. Our O-line is massively undersized IMO.

I thought Daboll had a power blocking scheme in Miami and Cleveland.
