In star trek you only see military life; not everyday life.

Startrek was the result of people writing a story, and other people acting that story out.

Is it liberal that Capt. Kirk liked to get it on with hot green alien chicks?

I've always thought the show Firefly could be seen as a small govt rebellion vs. A large bureaucratic government. That might qualify.

I thought you were drawing a parallel between the U.S. moving towards becoming a socialist or communist type-country similar to the Soviet Union.

It's DC, so I am on guard for that kind of stuff 100% of the time.

Oh! Nah! Just that they were the bad guys since ST was during the Cold War and Russians are crude brutes like the Klingons. Today, they're tantamount to kitchen plastic wrap.

The other thng about Star Trek is they developed almost unlimited power sources, but fuel still needed to be mined. Further, they developed an unlimited food supply. Resources are not in contention. If we achieve that then many problems go away.

Not to mention 300 years of cultural evolution.

Ohhhhh, but wait, there's more!

It took a capitalistic pig to start the process.

Zefram Cochrane FTW.
