This poll will decide eventually who is the greatest SNL cast member. To qualify the player must have either been a not ready for primetime player, featured player more than three seasons or on the evening news. There were 95 members that fit this criteria. The poll may take awhile to get up as it will be quite long for the first round. Choose 10. This is the 2nd of 5 heats in the first round.

My ten are (in order):

Tina Fey - Brilliant at the news. I'm a big fan.
Chris Farley - Versatile and funny, even if juvenile and dead.
Bill Hader - Sue me. I like this guy.
Ana Gasteyer - I'm almost positive that she is also Nora Dunn.
Nora Dunn - I'm almost positive that she is also Ana Gasteyer.
Mary Gross - She was good. Roughly equal to Ana. Or Nora. Whoever.
Will Ferrell - Fine, but way overrated. Way, way overrated.
Jimmy Fallon - (Looks into the camera.) Not the best actor, but okay.
Chris Elliott - Good, but really creepy.
Rich Hall - Meh.

Fallon's Nick Burns (Your Company's Computer Guy) character was great, and would have gotten my vote just for that. But he's also good impressionist, and was pretty good doing the news, although a lot of that was Tina.

I love his Late Night show. His acting was so bad on SNL that it was unintentionally funny. I liked watching Will Ferrell try to make him laugh. I thought he did a pretty good job on the news, though.

Yeah. He has done some really good stuff since he left the show. I have to consider that when voting.

I could only vote for 3 of these. Ferrell, Farley and Hader. I've hated SNL for the past decade or so, but from what I've seen and heard, Hader is ok.

I think part of the problem of SNL now is they depend on the guest host to be in almost every sketch. You can't be funny reading off cue cards the entire time. In the beginning the host would only be in a few sketches.

No kidding. It's almost as if he's giving us a list in alphabetical order over several polls and this one is only D through H.

Or something like that.

Was that before or after she was attacked by the Killer Bees?

Cool poll idea...

Based on longevity & success beyond the show, Ferrell is the no brainer, so thats how i voted, but had Farley not been such a sad soul & Belushied himself, it'd be him.

Looks like our top 3 blows everyone away
Farley
Ferrell
Fay

Others who look like they may be going on are
Fallon
Franken
Hader

Other 4 spots are still up for grabs. Keep voting as the number of votes will set seedings for the 2nd round and determine who qualifies for the winback round.

There are some famous people that were on the show as featured players but never made it to primetime. People like Ben Stiller, Damon Wayans, Tommy Davis, Jay Mohr and Paul Shaffer.

Always found Chris Farley to be the most hilarious. Guy could do nothing, just stand there and make a face and I would have no choice but to laugh. And the classic Matt Foley skit was the greatest in SNL history.

Bill Hader's Stephon and Clint Eastwood impression are the greatest thing today on the show.

Brad Hall should get a bye to the next round just for bagging Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Farley out of that list, but for greatest cast member? You missed quite a few greats, or dozens, that would have been better choices than 90% of that list.

Yeah Chris Farley was hilarious as all get out. The other cast in his skits would always have to try to keep from laughing.

This list is terrible. Gilbert Gottfried? Please.

Sorry bro, his "Nick Burns, your company's computer guy" skit always cracks me up so I voted for him.

He will get weeded out later on the process.

Calling this one. Moving on are:

Chris Farley
Will Ferrell
Tina Fey
Jimmy Fallon
Al Franken
Bill Hader
Will Forte

Since we have a tie for 10th there will be a runoff.

This was a sad round.....I don't think there were 2 candidates from this list that were worthy to move on.
