We did it to KCMan...

We didn't really do it to him, since he just got the names mixed up.

It happens a time or two every year, a guy selects a prospect that's long been off the board. Every year we give the guy his normal allotted time to continue as if he never made the selection, until he corrects his error.

i've been kind of down on this draft, but looking at the 3rd round, there a bunch of players I like...really hope we can pick up an extra 3rd again

There is pretty solid talent going into the 5th round.

It drops like a rock from that point on.

This pick is a slam dunk for the Jags, who have otherwise had a very tough time getting the players they've targeted scooped up the pick before.

1. DE Melvin Ingram, South Carolina
2. TE Orson Charles, Georgia (selection was made before news of his arrest came out)
3. WR Marvin McNutt, Iowa
4. ???

The Jaguars boasted one of the worst right tackles in NFL history last season. They desperately needed an upgrade at the position.

Fortunately, two primo talents fell to the 4th round. I think both Andrew Datko and Adcock are 2nd round talents. Adcock is more of a natural right tackle. Adcock does have some left tackle ability, but he projects much better to the right hands side.

Datko is more of a left tackle, but can play either position, and it's starting to become obvious that Eugene Monroe is starting to bust at LT for the Jags. It wouldn't hurt to bring in Datko and have the two compete at both LT and RT to get Gabbert the best protection possible on the edges. Datko was actually the starting LT for Florida State, but injuries derailed him and allowed Zebrie Sanders to emerge.

As these things often go, Datko has the higher ceiling, but is injury prone, so the floor is much lower. Adcock did dominate at left tackle late last season, so while you're getting a surefire right tackle here, Adcock may end up surprising with his ability to swing over if Monroe can't pan out.

The Jaguars select OT Levy Adcock, Oklahoma State.

With a need for a starting right tackle and with the options dwindling, we have to make a move. This kid got injured more than I'd like for a guy the Dolphins will depend on the man the RT spot from day one, but he is a player when healthy.

I was awfully tempted to double up on drafted qbs and take Kirk Cousins here because the value for him in the 4th is damn good and I wouldn't be a bit shocked to see him go 2 rounds sooner than this in the real draft....but I can't ignore a need when a valuable talent is there that can fill it.

In the 4th round of the 2012 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins select:

OT Andrew Datko, Florida State

Geez. I didn't hear last call for offensive tackles.

Whatever. Seattle finally addresses the biggest need of the draft since there's at last a player worth selecting at the spot. Very high floor, lowish ceiling. Not as good as Ricky Stanzi, but Seattle's gotta start somewhere with finding a new QB. This guy's adequate as a backup, and if Seattle doesn't find a legitimate starter, he may very well challenge for the starter spot later in the season/next season.

Seattle Seahawks select Kirk Cousins, QB, Michigan State

Draft looks pretty damn good for Seattle. Kuechly and Branch will both likely be Day One starters with excellent discipline in stopping the run. Seattle loses nothing by letting one of their free agent LBs walk, and in the process they also gain two options for rushing the passer. More needs to be done in that department, but it's off to a good start.

Green is a big target with good hands and speed-- something they were lacking from Miller last year. He'll take time to get better at his blocking, but until then he will also help out whatever crap QB they start.

Cousins at the very least is an option who provides some depth. Seattle was never going to get anything more than that out of this draft. Personally, I think Cousins is the most NFL-ready QB after Luck and RGIII. He might even get a chance as a starter some day. But in the mean time, I'm relying on Seattle to go get Flynn or a deposed starter by way of Peyton Manning. They also may be content with TJack for one more season.

Dang it, Pest took the guy I was waiting on here.
The Jets need some help with some young talent coming off the edge and he can be a situational pass rusher. While he may not be an every down type of guy, the Jets don't need him to be. They need someone to get to the quarterback on 3rd down.

Good pair of picks.

I think Mosley's a sleeper with LT potential.

I agree; went to CC as a DE, converted to O-Line so he plays with a bit of a defensive mentality (i.e. the mean streak I love in my lineman). He has more explosion than your average lineman and appears to have room to add even more weight if need be.

He's raw; only a 2 year starter. Then again - who better to block for Cam than his college tackle? Few guys are going to have a better feel for what Newton's likely to do in the pocket than Brandon Mosley.

I think he's a great fit for the Panthers. With Gross still there, they don't have an immediate pressing need for a LT, but Otah's health is just spooky as can be and Gross isn't exactly a picture of health either. Bell makes a nice swing tackle/backup for them, but Mosley can be a very good long-term starter and may some day replace Gross on the left side.

He's also a nice value in the 4th, I figured I'd need to reach for him in the 3rd if I wanted him, but he fell. It came down to him and Potter and I just think Mosley has a little more upside while also actually being a little more polished with his technique.

Well, seeing as how Doomy finally made an excellent pick, the Lions are stuck taking merely a good value instead of a great value (Kendricks went a full round too late, IMO).

So I'll go with a guy that's just as athletic and appears to have every bit the upside of Kendricks, though will probably need a little more seasoning:

Detroit Lions select Nigel Bradham, ILB, Florida State.

Bradham played the middle fairly often at FSU and with any luck will be able to make the transition to the NFL and stick there. However, worst case scenario is that he should be a nice weak-side 'backer in a couple of seasons.

Isaiah Pead's on the board, but he's not really a RB the Packers could use. He does all the things that Starks, Grant, and Alex Green (if healthy) can do.

It was probably a mistake to let center go this long in the draft, but I also didn't anticipate the huge rush. Philip Blake would really be nice right here, or even Brewster. All the remaining guys are undersized (Molk, Saulsberry, Gerhart). That's okay though. The Packers are usually able to roll ahead with undersized centers as long as they move well and stick to their blocks. All of these guys do that.

They go with the guy who's stronger at the point of attack, perhaps over-aggressive at times, but who also be more successful adapting to the pro game. Molk gets driven back a lot in spite of his lunch pail work ethic, and doesn't have much room to grow. This guy has been talked about as a "poor man's Rodney Hudson" due to his wealth of experience at guard at the college level, but possessing the traits and abilities that better fit the center position in the pros.

Green Bay Packers select Quentin Saulsberry, C, Mississippi State

Buffalo is completely changing defensive schemes. I'm not really sure what they plan to do in terms of coverage schemes out of that, however. I felt Johnson was good value at a position that could stand improvement in Buffalo. I believe they previously played a Tampa 2.

The Panthers need some help across from Steve Smith and they know that if this kid doesn't hurt his knee in 2010 after going for 48 for 849 as a soph, he's a 2nd round pick in 2012 (and ran a 4.39 at his pro-day last week, showing that he's finallly recovered from the knee injury that slowed him down his SR season).

The Panthers select Greg Childs, WR, Arkansas. There are a couple of options that may be a little safer or more likely to contribute immediately, but there's not been anybody taken since the 2nd round with the potential upside this kid has and by God, that's why you have the 5th round.

The Lions still need some help on the interior of their line. This kid looks to have pretty excellent coaching, solid technique and a good motor, he just needs to add some bulk. The Lions don't need a starting guard immediately so he should be able to spend the next season or two bulking up with the potential to be a legit starting guard someday.

Well, he's got two picks before I go again, so I guess I don't have to check this thread for another 48 hours or so.

Is he in Nashville? Is it St. Patrick's Day or is he on a 12-hour "bopping it" binge? Perhaps he is doing the virtually impossible and trying to figure how to **** up the Jags even more? :D

Well the real draft isn't anytime soon so we might as well wait for a little bit more.

I still think we need to cut him off at some point.

Give him another 12 hours or so? Midnight tonight and then if he doesn't have it, the next guy is on the clock? We'll just pass over Direckshun.

I'm in. I'm here.

My apologies. Things have been super fucking hectic and whatnot. I'll have a pick up shortly.

Again, my apologies.

I know I'm going to steal this guy away for the Jags while I still can.

Jags select QB Austin Davis of Southern Mississippi.

I was so going to take him for the Packers and be cute about it. You know, the Favre thing. Then you were a chode.

Thanks, Direckshun.

I don't think this guy's off the board but I really think he should be, so I'm going to double up on positions again:

The Carolina Panthers select Jeff Fuller, WR, A&M. Very big, very fast, pretty raw but has time to learn behind Steve Smith. He and Childs could do a ton of damage in the future.

This guy has a bunch of upside. Could even be used as fullback. Lots of potential in this offense.

Seattle Seahawks select Terrance Ganaway, RB, Baylor

The Kansas City Chiefs select Asa Jackson, CB, California Poly.

Thrilled that this player is still on the board. The Chargers need some depth in the backfield with Tolbert going elsewhere and Mathews not exactly the most durable back.

The Chargers select Cyrus Gray, RB, Texas A&M

The Browns take a guy here who can help on special teams (KR/PR and punt/fg block units) and can be a change of pace back and receiver out of the backfield. You could draw up some interesting plays with this guy and RGIII together.

The Cleveland Browns select Chris Rainey, RB, Florida.

Potentially the most worthless pick of the entire draft coming up, but I'm taking a chance that sitting and learning (deep) behind one of the game's greatest might inspire an already hard worker to defy measurables:

The Broncos select Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State.

Hey there, I just got this. I was never PM'd. The Titans needs more depth at the WR position. They get a local product who was a star offensive breakout during the East-West practices and was projected as high as a fourth round pick.

The Tennessee Titans select Tim Benford, WR, Tennessee Tech.
